May I present "Shiraz" Stacey H's whippet. Stacey, I hope you like it!

This was an interesting challenge! Its really hard to get everything you want to include on such a small image. I found some old pictures on the internet to support the story of my birth at Women's Hospital in Detroit in the 1950's. I used a Scrap Girls Freebie from last week for the background: SNU All Wrapped Up Solids Plus Paper Special - Aqua (just because I liked the color!) other products - STI Renew Stained Glass Special Flower 2 (another freebie??) with a water reflection image effect applied. Font is CK Amelia miscellaneous: pictures from the internet; scanned image of the actual telegram that my dad sent to my grandparents announcing the birth of a granddaughter - cool!!

This is my first ATC - it was fun. I focused it on our wedding anniversary coming up. We'll be married 15 years, and will finally be married longer than we went together before we were married!!! Products used: VRA Always Kit MRE Cherry Blossom background JHI Mischief Maker Brush CBARBR Love of My Life Frame CK Amelia Font

I loved the soft colors in DMI's Allure Kit. I used several of her papers in the background as well as the flowers (which I recolored), the rickrack ribbon and the frame. The tag was used in 2 different ways - straight up as it came; and then I made the "hug" word into a brush and embossed the background papers with it. I also used DMI_Copper_Transp_Special for the torn vellum behind the small pictures. Finally, I used JHI_SS-LYO_Hearts brush set for the heart on the corner. First I used the Heartbase and colored it, layered the IronWorks heart over the base, and then layered the InkedEdge Heart on top. I also applied a Diffued Glow filter on the pictures.

I tried to use elements of space and complimentary colors and principles of balance, movement and repetition. Backgrounds: Rhonna Farrer Cream Swirls from her vellum kit; Rhonna Farrer Summer Fun Kit, Sew Scrap peas Stitches. Embellishments: Traci Turchin 2peas Evening garden, garden evening flower overlay with a simple emboss bevel and mosaic tile texture applied. Brushes: ABR SS Homestead RicRak Special Brush; Edging brush with a color blend applied.. Word Art: Rhonna Farrer Dreams Kit overlay cherish and heart overlay. This is a picture of my mother with my brother Rick. The previous year she had given birth, but the baby boy died as the result of a heart defect - transposition of the great vessels. At the time of this picture, she might have been pregnant with my brother David, who came along 11 months after my brother Rick. I was 2 years later.

I learned how to apply masks and effects in the Advanced Brushes Class that I'm currently taking from Scrap Girls - Shalae Tippet. Super class, I highly recommend it. The picture is not real clear because it was a photo from a picture phone - no one had their camera available for this! This is my self portrait LO that I put together as an assignment in Scrap Girls Advanced Brush Class I am currently taking. I just played. I made 3 brushes - the "9 year old girl" (me) photo in the upper corners (I flipped one of the images). I also made a brush of the "cartoon dogs" in the lower left corner. The third brush was my handwriting in the middle of the layout. I used lots of different effects and blends throughout the LO - too many to keep track of, I just tried lots of things and kept the ones I liked. I learned so much in this class already!! In case you can't read it, the journaling says: One woman Many roles Behind them all is a 9 year old girl Bright eyes, eager learner, curious, Loving I'm finding her Again
