    Baby Faces

So darling! I love how you put this all together.
  2. I LOVE THIS! What an awesome layout! I can't tell you how many times I drive past where my elementary school used to be, and wish I just had a picture of it before it was torn down. Not only do you have a photo of your school, but you did such a great job with it. I love how you have it at the bottom and you utilize the sky for the placement of other items. The treatment of your school photo is fantastic, and I love the swirls lightly used in the sky. Love it all!
  3. Too cute! I love how you girly-ed up a football page.

    Pavement Ends (MM)

This layout is special to my DH (because of what it says about us) - and that makes it special to me. Journaling: Like the sign says | Pavement Ends Our summer trip added 6,374.6 miles to the Suburban's odometer. Many of those miles were on dirt roads. Old logging roads, gravel county roads, national park roads, dirt roads through the prairie -- the best miles were definitely out past where the pavement ends. Supplies: Day to Day Life Collection (ric rak) fonts are Arial and Bodini

    Respect (Memory Makers)

This layout is special to me - not only because of what I wrote about my son, but also because my son himself really values the layout. Supplies: Photoshop Elements 5.0 fonts: Arial and Times New Roman ScrapSimple Paper Templates: Gridlocked ScrapSimple Paper Templates: Edgy, Thin Journaling: You wanted to play football this year. I mean, you really wanted to play. But when the school level failed in May and football fees jumped to over $400 -- well, we just couldn’t stomach that. So we told you no -- you could not play football unless the levy passed on the August ballot and the fees were lowered. Your acceptance was impressive. You didn’t complain once, even though you knew there was no guarantee that the levy would pass. And you didn’t complain even though waiting for the election meant you’d be a month behind the other boys in practice, and you’d have to work your tail off to earn your place on the team. But what impressed me the most was this: you knew I had concerns about the levy and about the fiscal management of the schools. And not once did you ask me to vote to pass the levy. On the contrary. You encouraged me to vote according to my beliefs, even though a failed levy meant you wouldn’t play football. Encouraging me to vote my convitions even though it meant you wouldn’t be able to do the one thing wanted with all your heart -- that’s not the behavior of a 12 year old boy. That’s the maturity of a man. Austin, you didn’t just impress me. You earned my respect. You may not yet understand the significance of earning your parent’s respect, but I do. I do. Me and Him

Another beautfiul layout, Laurel! I love the random shapes of the photos, created by the mica. And all the small embellishments fill in the design space with just the right touch. Terrific!
  12. This is so beautiful, Laurel. I just love the way you've worked with a duplicate image, and how you've circled the main focal point. This is absolutely beautiful!
  13. Thanks for taking a look! Journaling: Andrew, you're only five years old, but you've waited literally for years for this season. Your very first season on a baseball team. Okay, so it's t-ball at the YMCA, and everyone gets a trophy just for showing up - but you're well on your way, we just know it. Someday we're going to look back on these photos and think to ourselves, "this is when it all started." Yep, this is just the beginning of many season to come. We're behind you all the way, buddy. Every last step. Caption: 1. The batting helmet kept falling off - easier to just carry it around the bases. 2. Getting ready for that big hit. 3. A little extra wind-up never hurt anyone. 17. A subject that is near and dear to my heart! I love this. I like the colors that you've used, and I like how the close-up photo is brighter than the other - it really draws the eye.
  18. Angela, I've just gotta say - you are an absolute GEM on the boards! So glad you're here! :)

  19. Caren, you've done a fantastic job with the photo - it really does have a lot of depth. Nice saturation, too. And I like how you tucked the photo in with the metal image - very cool!
