  1. Scrapbook page I made for my sister in memory of her husband who died last month. My sister loves this layout. She is going to hang it on her wall because it tells the story of their love. It may seem like an ending, but the memories will keep him alive in our hearts. The night before Rich died, my nephew, Brian, handed his Ipod to my sister so she could listen to some music. The song he randomly chose was "The Dance" written by Tony Areta and sung by Garth Brooks. My sister, with tears in her eyes, bent down and said, "Richie, listen to this song!" My nephew took a video of that tender moment. The song is perfect for them. Their lives have been difficult, with 3 of their children dying before they were 14, but their faith is strong, as is their love. Rich was able to call all of his grandchildren to tell them goodbye. He and Geri talked until about 1 in the morning. He died a few hours later. They "could have missed the pain", but they "would have had to miss the dance". I used Holy Night stars paper by Shalae Tippetts and several edging and distress brushes I bought on Scrapgirls. The music notes are ABR_UrbanLive_Trans_Letter
  2. Here's a little poem I wrote a few years ago. I made it into a fun card for my friends and family. Aye, 'tis better than a Scotch Blessing! I use PSP X2 on a PC Syndee Nuckles Zip kit - Clover and VRA_OchreWinfree_12x12-inkededgeFREEBIE (to burn around the border). It was the fastest layout I have ever done. I LOVE the ZIP kits! Font: Calligraph421 BT for the poem and Bradley Hand ITC for the signature Text: AN IRISH BLESSING May the Good Lord Smile upon Thee. May the good things of earth and heaven Be heaped upon Thee. May the blarney that ye speak-- Bring a smile to the lips And joy to the lives Of those around ye. May ye find Behind every dark cloud of sorrow, A rainbow-- Leading to a golden pot of Joy. Ah, may ye find Love, Peace, And Happiness Forever in your life. May ye feel the arms of God Ever 'round Thee-- Oh, may ye always feel the Love of the Lord!! by Sandra Gwilliam

    Dream

I love the colors you used. I especially like how you made the chain and the locket larger. I have always made them small, but I may do a layout with them big now. I like the rolled edge, which makes a nice change from one paper to the other. The word art is lovely. I am glad that because of the fun idea you have for the newsletter about the magnet set, that I looked at your layouts! I haven't time to comment on all of them, but you have some great ideas!
  4. This is such a great idea! I love the quote, the bubbles and the fun pictures of "Toil" and "Trouble". I put this as one of my favorites to scraplift one day!
  5. I really like your two page spread with the journaling. The way you use the elements is really interesting!
  6. What a great idea and layout! And I love the quote, too! Now I can say I am becoming Real instead of old!
  7. I love how you did the two page spread. It all works together so beautifully! It makes me want to try a two-page spread!
  8. This is really creative and interesting! I really like the quote you used.
  9. I really like the arrangement of the elements. It makes a wonderful memory layout!
  10. I also love the photo in the envelope and your background paper. The flowers really add to it, too!
  11. What an interesting layout of a great memory! I like the edges of your layout. This gives me some ideas for how I can use the Time traveler collection I bought. Thanks!
  12. I like the duplicated dog and the blue eyes and have layered some background papers. Fun layout!
  13. I like how you have used the dresser to "hold" the picture. The background is really interesting, too!
  14. I like the window pane which lets you add a lot of fun photos! The word art and the flourishes really set off the frame nicely!
  15. How cute! I like your idea of layering the embellishments to make them stand out more. I like ideas to use with my PSP X2! The mosaics are really fun. I like the I Love You word art, too!
  16. In the operetta, this song was sung by Hansel to Gretel when they were lost in the forest. Hansel is reminding Gretel that the angels watch over them so he and Gretel don't need to be afraid. It is such a comforting song to sing to my grandchildren to remind them that Angels are watching over them, too.
  17. What a fun idea. I think my grandchilden would love to do this.
  18. I always sing songs to my grandchildren when I tuck them into bed. They especially love the song, 14 Angels from Hansel & Gretel. I sing it in English then in German (as I remember it from my High School years). My granddaughter emailed me this week saying, "I miss you, Grandma!" Then she included a few lines of the song. I decided to do a layout for my grandchildren using the words of the song and a picture of them "sleeping". I use Paint Shop Pro X2 Elements I used: Background paper-- STI_HolyNight_Paper_12x12_Stars Angels-- EHI Victorian Christmas and because I needed a LOT of angels I cropped, duplicated & mirrored KVE_Christmas Delight_Paper_Angels to give the impression that there are a LOT of angels watching over my grandchildren. Fonts: Papyrus & Foliex Girls This was a really fun layout to do. I am in the process of doing a different picture of each grandchild "sleeping" to give to them as a fun memory. Hopefully my Deutsch Sprechen isn't too grammatically incorrect! I took German over 40 years ago!
  19. I love the colors & embellishments you used, the blending and the paper folding. It is a wonderful layout!

    Believe

This is a wonderful layout with the Angel, the snowflakes, cute picture and the message! I love it! I'm posting another comment here because I can't see your layout which was in the newsletter with how to make the push pin look like it was poking in the paper. Thanks for the idea of using the burn tool. I'm going to try that!

    Syndee's Fab 5

I love your layout and I love your Fab 5 and ALL of your collections! You are one of my favorite designers at scrapgirls. My aunt just started digital scrapbooking a few months ago. We get online together to show each other what we have bought and find that your designs come up a LOT! Sometimes when we are clicking around the boutique and see something that we both love, but haven't noticed the designer's name-- we look to see who designed the collection. Very often we say, "Of course-- it is Syndee's-- NO WONDER we like it!" I have over 16 of your collections and my aunt has bought almost as many! Thanks for your comments on some of my scrapbook layouts. And thanks for your designs which help me feel like an artist, too, when I create my layouts! I am excited to start creating with with the School Days collection I just bought! This probably would have been better posted as a private message, but I don't have time today to do that and I am sure others feel the same way as my Aunt and I about your designs, so my comments go well here. : )
