Do you mean an update on a thread? You can click on "watch" at the top of thread and you will get an email.

Lori, I usually just click on "View New Content" above the Recent Status Updates.
If you aren't signed in, after clicking on it, you can scroll to the bottom and choose the time span you want to view activity for: 24 hrs, week, 2 weeks, month, etc.
