That's what's always wrong with mine-- dust. I just roll it upside down on a brand new, clean sheet of paper.

It's the laser kind so I can't take it apart to clean the ball like the old ones. My husband said maybe WD-40 (good suggestion Theresa) so we'll see if I dare do it.
