Jean, I didn't think it was hard to get used to at all. I think the best thing to do is download the trial version first to play with it. Costco has it on special now for 49.99 through 11-25-12 - see Carol's post: http://scrapgirls.net/forum/topic/57859-pse-11/page__view__findpost__p__1058200
