Wallace Stevens' "Sunday Morning" has always meant a lot to me and my husband; he had asked me to take notes since he was missing the lecture when Stevens' works, particularly this 8-stanza poem, were discussed in our Am Lit class. It was the beginning of our "courtship," 34 years ago now. Weirdly, this layout can satisfy any of the four March monthly challenge requirements: huge title, whole page photo, journal on the photo, or splatters on an Art Journal page. From the album: Kelly's Random Layouts
supplies in EXIF properites I debated on posting this. I was browsing some of the tutorials and came across one Jody West did on Art Journaling. I know I didn't have the collection she used although, I did have the buildings silhouette she used. So I looked through my stash to see if I had something similar. In her tutorial Jody mentioned that song lyrics are good for doing art journaling. When I saw Syndee's Artful life collection, the dandelion sspaper, it reminded me of the song "Fireflies" by Owl City and it went from there. I only used some of the lyrics: You would not believe your eyes If ten million fireflies Lit up the world as I fell asleep 'Cause they fill the open air And leave teardrops everywhere You'd think me rude but I would just stand and stare I'd like to make myself believe that planet earth turns slowly It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep 'Cause everything is never as it seems 'Cause I'd get a thousand hugs From ten thousand lightning bugs As they tried to teach me how to dance A foxtrot above my head A sock hop beneath my bed A disco ball is just hanging by a thread I'd like to make myself believe that planet earth turns slowly It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep 'Cause everything is never as it seems TFL -

SHINE SO BRIGHT - JAN 2015 AJ - BRAND NEW DAY
cherryyllaann posted a gallery image in Art Journaling & Creative Composites
Sorry to have missed the chat but I wanted to have a go at the challenge. Here's my take on Brand New Day. I used the lines below from the song multiplied 3 times across the page from top to bottom. Then I applied a gradient to the text. Well it shines so bright and it gives so much light And it comes from the sky above Makes me feel so free makes me feel like me And lights my life with love BMU_19Hearts_ScatteredHearts-White BMU_Chambray_Impression BMU_SSPaper_LightingEffects2_Glisten BMU_SSPaper_LightingEffects2_Sunray DEB_AlteredArt_Paper_Tropical EBA_MermaidMystique_Emb_BubblesLg EBA_MermaidMystique_Emb_BubblesSm EBA_MermaidMystique_Emb_Net-Corner LLO_Inkfection_Emb_Tattoo_SunMoon PWR_FairySong_Emb_Beading PWR_FairyStory_Emb2_Flower SJO_TwilightMagic_Emb1_HalftoneDots SJO_TwilightMagic_Emb2_Wings-Sh SSClub_0312Nano_ArtDiary_Doll -
