February Challenge 4: Create Your Own Paper
Amy D posted a gallery image in Monthly Challenge Gallery
I made this paper by filling the layer with a solid color and fiddling with spatter brushes from Kyle Webster & Grungy Grid Brushes from VRD, adding an edge overlay from KK and playing with blending modes for each layer. I also applied Paint Texture Styles from SNU. I used Nature’s Walk Masks by ABR, Botanical by BMU, and Shadow Styles by SNU. Fonts are Chery Santos and JMH Typewriter Black. The photo is from Steve Sutton who I worked with at Univ. of TN (we simply say UT but I know there are TX people out there!)- 7 comments

I had to make a complete set of ATC’s for Valentine’s Day - 1 was just too lonely! I used With Love and It’s A Guy Thing by KK and Shadow Styles by SNU. Font is Bohemian Typewriter. I got these vintage & retro images from various artists on Etsy and when I was a greedy digital file hoarder at Design Bundles.

I made this background paper too - messing with styles, fill, opacity & clipping a paper to the insides of the fonts. I then copied and played with the positioning of each layer. I used Possibilities by KK and Shadow Styles by SNU. Fonts are Radical Font - Filled, Grad, Varsity Team and Without You.This 6x6 inch card can be printed & mailed - but I think I'll text it to her!

Journaling: Originally meant to haul non-living cargo, the Jeanie Johnston became famous for helping desperate Irish families escape during the Great Famine. Between 1848 and 1855, the ship made 16 voyages to North America, sailing to Canada and the US. On average, the length of the transatlantic journey was 47 days. The most passengers she ever carried was 254. To put this number in perspective, the replica ship is only licensed to carry 40 people including crew. I used Grandma’s Steamer Ship and Blue Jeans and Lemonade by KK and Shadow Styles by SNU. Font is Bohemian Typewriter.
