Rosefire Posted April 16, 2007 Share Posted April 16, 2007 ok so i just bought quite a few templates including the baby book ones by Erica H. anyways i was reading somewhere that i can put my layers in there right spot by hitting the shift key as im putting each layer together but when i do that nothing happens, the layer still centers vs. going where it should any ideas TIA Oh i have PSE5 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
LissaD Posted April 16, 2007 Share Posted April 16, 2007 First you have to make sure that you are dropping one file into a file of the exact same size. SO if you are using the letter size templates, make sure you have a letter size document open. Select your layer and drag it over the doc you want to drop it in, then hold the shift key when you drop it and it should line up. It took me a few times to figure out when to shift. I was hitting the shift when I selected the layer and not when I dropped it. My mom was trying to drop the layers into a differently sized document and that doesn't work either. I hope that helps. Rosefire Posted April 16, 2007 Author Share Posted April 16, 2007 ok so i have to same size doc, and im waiting to hit the shft key until its in the new doc but im still not getting it "sigh" am i missing something? is there a auto center setting i need to check off? is this only for PS and not PSE? im so frustrated (sp) i have been messing with this for two days now. goofyemt96 Posted April 16, 2007 Share Posted April 16, 2007 I think what she is saying is....PIck the BG you want to take to your template...and when you go to lay it just hit shift...I have been having the same problema dn it does take time...thats the one problem i dont like with pse5....PSP is so easy to cOpy and add...But for somereason pse is different or im doing something wrong.... Try clicking and holding shift before you move the element/layer and hold it until it is on the new document. Alternatively, go under "Layer" then "duplicate layer" and in the dialog box scroll down to the name of your new document. This will place it correctly. Hope that helps!
