dawn51
I really like my camera - I have a Minolta Dimage Z2 4.0 Megapixel camera. My only complaint is the low light situations. I am trying to decide if I want to get an external flash and live with this camera for a while longer and wait for the new models to come out later this year or bite the bullet and maybe get a used Rebel XT in great condition for what I believe is a good price. Any opinions please, dawn
CynR3219
I have a Canon Rebel, I bought it about 3 years ago and I just love it. Mine is 6mp, the new ones are 10mp or more now, I haven't checked. I got this one because I "grew up" with SLR cameras and loved the idea of being able to go back to that in a digital format. Also, the "taking picture speed" is almost instantaneous which is wonderful with my active kids - no more mom pushes the button and they walk right out of the picture before it's taken - LOL. The Rebels are definitely a little more pricey, but I've never regretted getting it. Hope this helps! Cyn

April Showers
We use our little ones and the SLR. I keep a little camera in my purse all the time- may not be as good as the SLR, but I never miss a shot. But when it comes to those inevitable indoor shots, little one just isn't up to snuff. That's why I got DH an SLR for Fathers' Day last year... now I can give him lenses for his birthday. Nothing like a present you can use yourself. DH is an excellent photographer, though. Used to be stingy with film, and now he doesn't want to fill his card with too many to sort through. (I really don't have that problem.) Hope you get a new camera, you'll love it. DaveUK
I'd go for the Canon and keep the Z2 too! The Canon will give you a lot more flexibility and your external flash options are wider. There are a vast range of flashguns available, and you could possibly even use it with Studio based equipment in the future! I thnink its called the Canon EOS over here, but still, a very very good camera! If you want to stay with the Minolta format, look for a secondhand Minolta A200 - they are 8mp and have a very good lens. Might get one reasonable priced on Ebay. jackson5
I just got the Canon Digital Rebel XTi last Saturday (after much debate and worrying about the price) and I will tell ya. I LOVE IT! I have gotten some of the cutest pictures of my kids in the last couple of days!
