It was a surface just begging for art. I saw the laptop sticker things on the internet for 20 -30 dollars plus shipping. I figured I could do it for about $2.50 with stickers half off at hobby lobby.

Looks cool! Love the pattern you made with all the flowers. I've been itching to do something with the top of mine as well...it's just so plain and boring :) not complaining though this thing is great!

Yeah, I'm with you Thao. I get claustrophobic just thinking about committing to that. LOL. But you've done it beautifully Leigh Ann. Maybe if I get a laptop someday I'll look you up to decorate it.

Okay, weird idea has just landed in Ro's brain.

Put self-sticking velcro strips on back of laptop. (8.5x11 size)

Create 8.5x11 layout

Put self-sticking velcro (other side) on page protector

Put layout in page protector

Stick page protector with layout in it to laptop.

Swap layouts out when you are bored.

Get rid of velcro if you hate it after a while.

Great idea Ro, it would save me heaps off my electricity bill and not to mention the carbon emissions I'd save by not having my laptop on all day, every day just so that I could have my layouts scrolling by on my screen saver.

GooGone is a product that removes sticky residue left behind after pulling a sticker off. I think it also removes crayon and lots of other stuff too. Also, I've found in a pinch that any kind of oil works to remove sticky, maybe not as well, but if it's all you've got handy. Then of course you need a little soap and water to remove the oiliness.

This is good to know to rescue old furniture from yard sales and such. Mirrors with stickers stuck on them... Lots of uses.

It looks great! Mine is too pretty right now for me to be brave enough to do that though. Maybe once I've had it longer, then I will venture out and do that. But it rocks!!

I've always thought laptops were so boring looking on the outside!! The surface DOES beg to be decorated!!! HP has started making one with a subtle pattern made into the casing. Why can't we have more choices though?? Xbox makes some cool skins for their systems! It's just a plastic covering!! I will have to think on Ro's idea .... hum....

What a brilliant idea Leigh Ann, proving that you don't need brand names to get a stylish look.
And soooo much better than the boring black rectangle.

Welcome, Scrapbea! Your laptop looks great. I'm afraid I'd be in the "scared to glue anything to something THAT expensive" club. :) But I admire those of you who have the guts to make it look awesome!

Ro there is actually a "cling" type paper you can buy and print on to make clings for your laptop :D
I read somewhere about that. I believe they are exactly like window clings :) You could make mini layouts and decorate your car :D
P.S I just had visions of "Scrapgirls" bumper stickers !!!!!!!!!!!! Can you say FREE advertising LOL
