Scrappers - join me, sprinklz, for a Special National Scrapbooking Day Edition of the Designer Inspiration Crop Challenge!
Saturday May 5th at 9pm ET in the Scrap Girls Chat Room!

Want to scrap more like the designers? Now's the perfect chance!

In this challenge, you will choose a layout from the Scrap Girls Design Team gallery to serve as inspiration and for you to scraplift. You will then use the designer's layout as inspiration to completely copy their layout or just use it as the starting point. Do you like their composition or their color choices? Use them in your layout!

On Monday, May 7th at 11:59pm ET, I will judge all the entries to the challenge, and the winner will receive a SS Digital Layout Template!

Because this is a scraplifting challenge, there are a few rules:

1.You must give proper credit to the original layout designer. They put a lot of thought and hard work to their creation, so please please acknowledge that!

2. All entries to the challenge must include a link to the original designer layout when you post your layout in the Scrap Girls Gallery.

Oh crud. I forgot how to calculate ET/PT again. We just moved from Utah to California a few months ago and I always forget ET is three hours ahead of me, not too. D'oh. Oh well. Maybe next time I may still try the challenge though!

I know im late! i almost didnt make it. The snow is piling up, and here i am snuggled down with blankets and hot cocoa... and sneaking a purchase while dh isnt looking... GUILTY!!!

I have ran across this layout several times, and have loved the fact that Durin used paper as an embellishment. She is so great! This is her layout i used as my inspiration...The Colors of Autumn

Here is mine! Zolana I really did alot of new things i never have before. Like using a ravashing template on the very top to give a faded/grunge look. I also felt that circles were a bit more fitting for the lightness... Anyways.. i HOPE you all like. CC is always welcomed.

Is it too late once I've posted to make changes to my LO? I kinda rushed on my LO today because I knew I had to go to church tonight. LOL... As I was sitting in church tonight, my mind kind of wondered to my LO. (I know, I know... shame on me) Trust me... I felt guilty! But I thought of a couple things I should have done. I really haven't made up my mind... just want to play with it some more. Is that ok?

Brenda - I'm so sorry - I've been away from my computer (it was hard but I did it - lol), and just now noticed your post.

YOu have until midnight ET tonight to update/change your layout. I haven't even looked at them yet to leave comments, so you could technically change it at the last minute, and I would be none the wiser.

There is 4:15 left until I choose the winner. Still plenty of time to scrap!

I was SO inspired by doing the first LO, that I got another one done just now (if that's not ok, just ignore it!). I've been oooohing and ahhhhing over Keri Schueller's LO on the home page of the boutique daily, so I decided that it would be perfect to scraplift for a picture from the Tulip Festival this past weekend. Plus, I was determined to figure out the Fancy Folds template - I did! Woo hoo! Love them!

Thanks for the great challenge! It was just what I needed to get me out of the scrapping slump that I've been in!

I second that! It's a wonderful challenge!

Well, we haven't been doing it regularly, but that doesn't mean it has to stay that way. I have an idea about it, but let me think about it for a few days first.
I'll let you know as soon as my thoughts settle.

Yay to everyone for participating in this challenge! It's hard sometimes to step out of your comfort zone, but I was so impressed with the layouts all you creative folks made! I have to admit I had a very hard time picking just one winner.
