Even though I've been digi scrapping for a while now I feel like I don't know anything. Can someone please explain to me what they are?
TIA

I think of brushes as digi rubber stamps. You can change colors, change opacity, use them to erase and so much more! They come in many varieties; images, grunge and layer your own just to name a few.
There is a great eBook in the boutique on brushes Mastering Brushes for Photoshop Elements

Hi -- I've been so afraid to use brushes that I just download them and hope I'll learn how to use them. I purchased the Mastering Brushes ebook and haven't looked at it yet. From what I am reading now, that's probably going to help me with a lot of problems I have experienced recently in my digi SB. I was so frustrated that I thought I better go back to paper SB, at least I can crunch up the paper in my hands and toss it in the trash but with digi SB, you just have to look at a blank screen.

I love brushes now. I was a little intimidated at first but now I love them. The possibilities are endless with what you can do with them. Yeah for the brushes.

I am assuming you know how to load them ... :-) I would suggest getting a piece of paper and playing with your brush. Learning how to enlarge it or make it smaller change the color etc. I would always try something new while I was scrapping and get SOOOO frusterated with it, I wouldn't try again for awhile.
One tip I just learned was this: When using a brush, put it on a new layer verses your paper/picture/etc. That way you can flip it, make it bigger or smaller and it won't effect your whole page, just that layer. I hope that makes sense.
It really is fun once you get the hang of it ... this coming from someone who really hasn't learned the FULL potential of brushes!!!
