Congratulations to PBarnes! Pat is the ScrapGirl Member of the Month. Pat has quickly become one of the most active members on the board. She is a regular in the fitness forum, always providing encouragement and a kind word, plus she is always in the chat room, helping out in more ways than one. In fact, one day she ran the chat until the instructor was able to come! That is a devoted team member. For her efforts, Pat receives a $10 gift certificate to the boutique, plus gets to wear the title of ScrapGirls Member of the Month under her avatar! Way to go, Pat!

When you get a moment, Pat, tell your fellow members a little something about yourself, and send us a link to your favorite layout!

Oh my gosh!!! I am flabbergasted! And greatly honored to be named Scrap Girl of the Month. I truly love this community of digital scrapbookers. I have learned so much since I joined in February and feel that I have made some great new friends.

I am 54 years old, married to my wonderful husband Mike for 34 years. We have two kids (as you will see in my favorite layout) Heather, 30 and Brandon, 25. We have four grandchildren, Zoe, 12, Caelum 7, Ruby, 4 and Olivia 3. Unfortunately, they don't live close by. You will see them in lots of my layouts though.

I started college right out of high school majoring in fine arts. After two years, I realized it probably would be difficult to make a living as a fine artist so I attended a commercial art school. I worked part time in the art department of a local tv station until the kids came along. I worked part time then at a craft store teaching decorative painting, crochet, knitting, and tatting. I went back to college at the age of 38 to earn a bachelors degree in computer graphics. I went to work as a graphic artist at a sign shop that had been recently purchased by one of my friend's husband. After almost 16 years in that position, I was "let go" the first part of this year. It was ok because I was planning on quitting soon anyway since my husband is retiring this summer. Retirement is wonderful!!!! I never seemed to find the time to get into digital scrapbooking which I had learned about a couple of years ago. Now I have the time I need and I am thoroughly enjoying it.

Outside of scrapbooking, I am involved in the bell choir and choir at my church, my husband and I are members of a bagpipe band as tenor drummers, and I'm really trying to concentrate on exercise. I volunteer at a therapuetic riding academy which uses horseback riding as therapy for handicapped children and adults.

I found Scrap Girls cruising the internet and I am so glad I did. I still look around but I have not found any site that offers as much as Scrap Girls does or has the product comparable to what is here. I love SGs designers. I also love that Ro and others here are committed Christians - and not afraid to say so.

Sorry if I've run on a bit about myself. Here is my favorite layout so far. http://scrapgirls.com.ipbhost.com/index.ph...i&img=22684 I'm sorry that it doesn't have any Scrap Girls products since it is all photos. It was done from a SG's challenge to scrap a song's lyrics.

Thank you so much for choosing me as Scrap Girl of the Month.
