I walked for about 45 minutes today pushing my son in the stroller. It was a good work out!

I ran on Tuesday and today. I didn't sleep well, but made myself run any way, and the time went by fast. I hope to get my run in earlier in the morning now that I'm up and ready earlier to get the Lauren off to school.
Now, just to control my snacking, again....

I have a hard time sticking with both exercising AND watching my eating habits. I'm trying like crazy to exercise 4 hours a week and I'm getting there the past few weeks, finally. But so far, no change on the scale. It's discouraging. I only weigh once a month because I have a lot of fluid retention issues that fluctuate monthly and it was getting me down to see the scale go up and down like a yo-yo. Snacking is my nemesis! LOL
Anyway, I just thought I'd join the rest of you and see if it will help me keep going and prevent me from giving up. I have almost 100lbs to lose yet.

OK! It is FRIDAY! I'm thrilled. I want to do some scrapping this weekend. My parents are coming Wednesday, and the house is as clean as it is going to get, so I'm ready to scrap. Today I feel really good. My head is clear again and the exercise is really helping my mood. I'm back to 30 minutes on that killer stair stepper and 20 on the treadmill...Just some crunches too, as time is short with the girls getting up for school. I may hand that task off to DH so I can finish that up.
Anyone have exciting plans this weekend? Want to share? Anyone plan to exercise? I take weekends off, although sometimes I really want to get on this treadmill...maybe one weekend day I will!
Cathy! Great to have you back. I'm so sorry to hear of your circumstances. YOU are in my prayers as is your family...what a tough thing to go through. (((((hugs)))))

This weekend we need to do some major yard work. Our back yard is looking pretty shabby so we need to get on that. Hopefully the lawn will have time to dry out so we can mow it. It just keeps raining, which is good, but not when the lawn needs mowed.

Thanks. I feel funny posting much because my ordered program hasn't arrived yet and I have no layouts to share... LOL Anyway, as I said, I've been trying to do a minimum of 4 hours of exercise a week. I have a hard time getting off my chair to do much most days. (My ankles seem to give me a lot of trouble these days.) Each week tends to be a little different. I guess I haven't found my groove yet. I tried averaging how much exercise I need to do daily while taking Sundays off and that wasn't bad except that some days just got too busy and I ended up missing a couple days a week so I thought I'd try allowing myself a couple days off in addition to Sunday. That works better except that I find myself in pain before I get to the end of my workout. I'm only doing cardio at this point but I'd like to add in some light weights eventually. Oh, and for the most part, my exercise is on the gazelle because I can still be with my family.
We're having our home appraised so we can do some renovations soon. We need a proper kitchen (instead of one that is falling apart) and a bathroom equipped for my husband's needs. Tomorrow we have a kick-off bbq for our homeschool group and Sunday my daughter and I are singing on the worship team at church followed by a CFL game with our favourite team. (We watch on tv whenever possible.) It's going to be a busy weekend for me, I think.
Oh, yeah... I added signature stuff last night when I couldn't sleep... so now you all know my overall goal. It feels pretty daunting!

I thought I'd join the group. I'm losing my weight with record speed 23 pounds in 9 weeks, but I 've fallen off on my walking. I was up to 2 miles a day (not bad for 2 failed back surgeries)
I really need to get back at it, to tone all these flabby muscles
I would love you to hold me accountable for my daily walk. I usually walk in the early morning... it really looks like a great group, you all seem so comitted to it.. MaryJo

As soon as I can tear myself away from Scrap Girls, I'm going out for a ride. Its a beautiful day but it may be too breezy to go too far. There is an art show at a nearby outdoor mall and I'd like to go see it but only if I don't have to park too far away because my feet are not doing well the last few days.

The scale is the most frustrating part of this whole weight-loss thing, isn't it? I missed my exercise yesterday because of a last minute meeting I had to attend last night and it looks like today may end up as a write-off, too.

Hope you are having a great weekend! I walked our border collie, Daisy, again yesterday and today. My husband decided to go with us this morning and we walked twice as far as I've been doing this week. Daisy is becoming an accountability partner herself! Every morning she looks out the window and sees other dogs being walked and then she won't leave me alone! LOL!
I know what you all mean about the scales! I did get a ticker added to my sig and also journaled some on fitday.com
Does anyone here watch Biggest Loser? My dds Stace and Linds have used this as a great motivational tool. The stories are awesome.....Anyway, just thought I would mention that I think a new season starts this week.

I have used fitday in the past but not recently. I should probably get back to that at some point. I haven't watched Biggest Loser - not a lot of time for tv these days but I've heard some good things about it.
As I expected, I didn't get exercise in yesterday or the day before but I think I might get on the gazelle during the game today. Distraction from the effort of the gazelle, exercising while I watch football, ... Yeah maybe that would be a good thing. LOL

Know what you mean about something to distract you......the time always passes faster if you can watch TV or listen to music. I moved my exercise bike into the family room and plan to add that to my workout tomorrow.
Happy pedaling!

It's been a while for me . . . but I'm still sticking with the exercising. As I suspected, it's tougher now that I'm back at school every day, so I'm doing everything I can. Apparently, my inherent absent-mindedness is a plus now. My office is downstairs and my classroom upstairs. Therefore, every time I forget to bring a stack of papers from my office to class, I have to make a round trip down and back up. I can't do much about where I park as we have assigned parking spaces, with the teachers' closest to the doors.
Over Labor Day, the family headed up to NC, where we did some hiking (YAY!). Since our return, DH and I are back to our Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday lap-swimming. I'm hoping that this week I can begin to add in some exercise DVD's on the days that we don't swim.
My weight is holding steady, so overall, I'm pleased with myself.

Glad you joined us, Paige! Those extra steps add up, especially if they are up and down stairs!
May all our steps work our bodies out today!

LOL Thanks, Theresa! I'm hanging in there. Yesterday I did my hour on the gazelle during the football game (very sad game so I'm not sure if the distraction was from the exercise or the game!) and then today I went to the pool with my husband and son. I am not a big swimmer but I made sure that I did some actual swimming in my own strange sort of way

Mom and dad arrive tomorrow. I'm so excited because they just announced they want to take my sisters and I and our families on a 7 day cruise next summer for their 50th wedding celebration! Oh, I can smell the ocean breezes already!!! YAY!!!
OK, I'm done stepping and walking, now some crunches and then off to get my day moving! Have a great one, all you lovely ladies!!

Walked the block again today and did the stepper for just a few! Wheeww, going to have to work up on that one!
And I'm cleaning house today: vacuum, mop, windows! uuummmmm, seems like I have more energy since I started walking! Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why, does it??!!!!
I Did catch Biggest Loser open last night, and picked up this tidbit from the discussions about diet.
Protein+carb+fat at every meal and snack for high energy and faster metabolism...Think I'll post that on my fridge!
