Good morning girls! What a night. I had a sick baby last night. Actually she isn't a baby anymore, she is 7...but still when the are sick, they are like your babies. Poor thing. At least now she can tell me what is wrong. Needless to say, neither of us slept well. She is still sleeping...I am on the treadmill. Talk about determination, eh? It will be a long day.

You are all doing so well. I love hearing your success stories! Keep them going!

I went to Super Target yesterday and found this "skinny Water". It is an appetite suppressant in a bottle of water. Of course, I am a new product weenie and had to buy it. I'll let you know tomorrow what it did for me!

Fill me in ladies! Fill me in!

Theresa

WOW! Becca!!! Way to go!

Well...I did great yesterday with eating better. 1319 cals and 31 grams of fat. I only got in 4 glasses of water, but had no soda. Wahoo! I got in 6 servings of fruits and veggies too. Much improved! So far today I am on track for another good day.

I did not get in my exercise this morning. Madison was up several timed during the night and I was too tired and unmotivated to get on the bike this morning. She has “daycareitis”. She started day care/pre school a few months ago so she is catching every little thing. She has a runny nose and kept waking herself up coughing. I feel so bad for her…and for me, LOL…I appear to be catching all her little day care germs too. Yuck!

Hopefully tonight will be better. I know that just by eating better I will start feeling better and have more energy, so I am not going to torture myself over not riding the bike this morning.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Hi girls - I have about 40 pounds to lose. I go back and forth some weeks I do good with exercise and some I don't. My DH has told me that he will get a DSLR that I have been wanting when I get my weight off. (He knows that I am unhappy with my weight - He doesn't care 1 way or the other.

Did 30 min strength training before work today. Need to work on drinking more water - and not eating so much junk food.

dawn

How do you get one of those tickers?

Welcome to all the newcomers! It's so wonderful to see all the new posters!!

After a rough night, I did my aerobics video this morning. I need to get myself to bed before midnight! I'm staying up way too late. Dh comes home Friday, so hopefully I'll get back on track. He won't be home for long, but maybe I can get myself straightened out before he leaves again. I should do more exercise, but I'm just so tired. Maybe I'll mow this afternoon.

Theresa, I can't wait to hear how the skinny water works! I love the name!

Wow..see what happens when you don't post for a couple days? Look how much I've missed!
1st Paige...I'm so with you on the Melting Pot!! lol! (its a weight loss thread & I get excited for the food talk! Ha! Go figure...) But I think I'm around your age Paige & we're the exact same. 25-26 hit & there went my carefree eating days!
Anyways WTG REBECCA!!! It SOOO motivating to see that scale move!! And Pat don't worry that yours isn't moving as quickly as you'd like yet. It took a while for you to gain the weight...its gonna take a little bit to see it start coming off. And it probably is exactly what you say...you've been building muscle doing all that riding! That's a GREAT thing...muscle helps your metabolism burn faster!!
Anyways so I did so-so over the weekend. Nothing too bad until Sunday I had a cheeseburger. Oops. Oh well...forgave myself & moved on into the week & so far I'm doing pretty well. This morning I was down another pound making for a grand total of 10 since the beginning of the summer. 3 more pounds to go until I can take out my bag of "140 lb. clothes" I've had in storage for about a year now. Did my TurboJam just now & I feel pretty good! (Hot, but good...!!)

Oh & Theresa speaking of the "skinny water"...I've never had that, but if you don't like the water, there is a "juice" called Fuze that is fantastic! It too has an appetite supressant (actually they have a few different varieties like engergy & so on..) but it has like 10 calories, 0 carbs, 0 sugar & a TON of vitamins in it & it tastes really good. (my favorite is the cranberry one). Just thought I'd throw that out there...its a great replacement for sugary juice or pop!

I"m here to report that DH and I spent an hour swimming today (while trying to keep an eye on DS jumping off the high dive and/or flailing up and down the lane with us), so I'm feeling wiped out now--but wiped out in a good way! Oh, and I got the box of clothes that I ordered from J. Jill and all of them fit. I order online all of the time, and this is the first time that everything I ordered fit, nothing to return. No--this has nothing to do with working out, but it was another bonus to the day.

Amy---thanks for the compliment, girl, but it was my mid-40's that did it to me! I only wish that I were still in my late 20's! However, lest anyone think that I was in better shape in my late 20's, that would be a fallacy. Unfortunately, I've yo-yoed most of my life from near anorexia (92 pounds) to bloated (132 pounds). Also unfortunately, the times I've dropped weight quickly, I've done so during extremely stressful periods of my life. Then, for the next 5 to 6 years, I gradually gain the weight back before the next stressor appears. I'd like to break that cycle and lose weight healthily--not because I'm going through a divorce or get extremely ill. With my DH's help and y'all's encouragement, I hope to do that.
Paige

Wow! Look at the energy flowing from this thread!! Great job to everyone! And a big welcome to all our newcomers!

Elizabeth, one good thing about daycareitis is that it's better she's catching all that stuff now and not when she starts Kindergarten. I know it's bad right now, but it would be worse if she had to miss regular school.

Thanks to everyone for the congrats about meeting my first goal to see under 200 pounds. I swear it's this thread that keeps me moving every morning.

I haven't tried or found any "skinny" water, but I'd probably try it if I could. I'd like to know what you think of it, too, Theresa.

I was good yesterday and walked on the treadmill for 30 minutes, then today I mowed the lawn for an hour. We have a huge hillside to our yard, so mowing that sucker is quite the workout! Plus I have done good about writing everything that I am eating down, I have found that to be a huge help.

You girls are inspiring me, all of you doing great with exercising. :)

I didn't make it to the gym today, but i did tromp around cub scout camp with nine 9-10 year old boys all day. Should have worn a pedometer. they sure don't schedule activities close to each other. :)

Hey ladies! Keep moving! You are doing so well.

I got brave and got on the scale...bloat and all. And I didn't gain any weight! I didn't lose anymore either, but HEY! Still an accomplishment!

I working off some frustration on the treadmill today. Men! They can't really be hard to live with! UGH! Mine is tempermental and can be so hard to deal with some days! I'm so grateful I have my workout.

The skinny water was interesting. You are supposed to have one before every meal, but I just had one in the morning. It kind of gives you a satisfied feeling without feeling "full". I can easily see how it works. But at $6 a 6 pack, unless it goes on sale or I have a coupon, I won't be buying alot of it. Maybe Sam's will start carrying it!

I'll look for that Fuze water, babybaymom, thanks for that tip!

Oops, actually when I wrote about being the same as age & weight, I meant to direct that to Elizabeth, not you Paige. You just had me so excited over Melting Pot I wasn't thinking straight! lol!
Anyways today was sorta bad. The boss asked me to go to lunch with him, then took me to my favorite Italian restaurant. Ugh... I'm so bad at restaurants!!! I only ordered plain pasta (no cheeses or creams) but I did eat the whole thing. Oops. But to try to make up for it, I ate only my cereal for dinner. Hope that counts... And I skipped my workout this evening in favor of a nap (darn wine at lunch) so I'll have to do extra tomorrow. (sigh...) I gotta get better at this will power stuff (& get my lazy butt up outta bed!)...
Hope ya all had a better day than me!

I didn't sleep well Tuesday night so slept too late Wednesday morning to get my bike ride in so I decided to take a walk. Big mistake. Now my plantar facsiitis is kicking up again. And now its 11:21 Wednesday night and I can't get to sleep again. Still hoping to get up early to ride. I don't mind losing the sleep during the night so much as the fact that I'm really inclined to "think" I'm hungry so I end up eating calories that I hadn't planned into my day. Grrrr. Haven't lost anything but like Theresa, haven't gained either.

Went with some friends on a 2 hour hike at Ecola State Park overlooking Cannon Beach, Oregon. Beautiful day and amazing views. Would have been more fun if my asthma hadn't been acting up, but I kept up, even though my lungs hurt. :)

Some days are such a struggle, aren't they? Today I am fighting to keep my eyes open! I'm just soooo tired. Today is a busy day. The girls have 2 camps, and then tonight, all my step-kiddies with all their significant others are coming over for dinner. I'll be preparing dinner for 10. So, I want to get started as soon as possible. I need to do some food shopping too, which I'll tackle during one of the girls camps.

Getting on here was no easy feat...but I know it has to be done. It is funny what you will do when you know the odds are against you. So here I am...lets all have a good workout day. And if you can't? Don't sweat it. There is always tomorrow.

Got in 20 minutes of arm strength training this morning before work. Ate pretty well yesterday, but there is always room for improvement.

Teresa hope your day goes well.

Pat hope you are feeling better.

Have a great day,

Did 10 miles in 57 minutes this morning. It was against the wind coming back and boy was I tired by the time I finished. Saw a woodchuck beside the trail and a heron standing in the creek this morning. Didn't sleep well again last night. I hate to take a nap to make up for it because I don't want to throw tonight off too but I may just have to sneak in 15 minutes or so after lunch.

I'm not sleeping well either, Pat. It was 2 am and I was still staring at the clock. But I forced myself to run this morning. I ran 5K on the treadmill. I did it in under 35 minutes, so I was happy with that. Yesterday I took the girls to the high school track. I ran 2.5 miles and walked another half mile. My 5 year old wanted to see if she could run .80 miles and did it. She decided not to run the race next week, though.

Yup, we're having a fitness crop on Monday at 9 pm est. I'm excited to chat with everyone and offer encouragement and motivation (and receive some, too, lol!).

Good evening all! So today I ate really well...ate my cereal with no snacking! Lunch however was tough...for some reason I was just full out STARVING so I caved & ate Subway but I figured it was good for me. A mini 3" turkey sub, no mayo, no cheese, no oil. Not too bad. Haven't worked out yet, but that's next on my to-do list as soon as I get dinner in the oven. I have my pilates video at work I keep meaning to bring home but I always forget so TurboJam again it is! :P
Anyways WTG carla! I couldn't run that much if my life depended on it! Ugh the second you said "high school track" I had horrible flashbacks to the mandatory running of the mile back in gym class! (shudder!) Good for you though! Keep up the great work girls!!

Lol, Amy. I was the same way in high school, and I was a two sport athlete back then! I absolutely hated running until last year. Now I mix it in with aerobics and actually enjoy it!

Gosh, the no-sleeping thing is going around. No sleep for me last night. I actually took a nap this morning! Still tired, but it is 10am and I need to get moving, so I'm here, on the treadmill.

We had a great night with all the kids. They are growing up so fast. It makes me dread when my little two are bringing boyfriends over! OY VEY! Will I be old then or WHAT?!?

I need to finish this walk although my body is denying me right now. I may skip the weights. It might be too much.

The weekend is here though. How great is that? Looking foward to trying some fishing this weekend. How about you?

I actually finally slept well last night. I did an hour on the elliptical. And yesterday, well, I could count taking dd to the mall. That involves some walking, right?
I think I'm going to have to tackle my flower gardens which have been neglected since I was on vacation. So much dead-heading to do. And weeding too. Hope it isn't too hot, or I might just have to hang out in the pool instead.

Got in 30 min on the treadmill this morning. I have made it 5 days this week exercising. The 1st time I have been consistent in a while. I have also been writing my food down also.

I didn't sleep well last nite also. Something must be in the air.

I hope everyone has a great day,

Good morning all! Yesterday was a great day for me. The boys were home with me for the day so we did arts & crafts, played outside on the swing-set and they helped me make lunch. DH came home a little after lunch and we went to run some errands, then went to the park for a walk & bike ride. When we got home the kids played bubbles and I proceeded to weed for an hour and a half, I was a BIT tired of our dandelion farm. ;)

I also wanted to mention a great food find. Our local Costco carries a chicken sausage with basil and provalone cheese that is so yummy! If I remember right, they are about 140 Cal, 3-4 fat, and 3 dietary fiber so that are good for you too. Anyway, something good for the grill without killing the diet.

I am off to get some work done, I'll walk at lunch.

p.s. how often do y'all weigh in? I have gotten frusterated doing it every morning and seeing no change yet. Really it is too soon, but still discouraging. OK, another question...How long after you started your diet/exercise did you start to see that weight come off?
