After getting home and reviewing the prints, I went back and then had to return a second time to talk with the photo center manager. He even went into the crop function and saw that, yes, the picture was sized at 8x10. (The person there the first time I came in actually said "different software saves things differently" and suggested that even though I set it up to be 8x10 it might not have saved that way. If that's the case, PS has a horrible issue.) In any case, the manager turned off the color correction and red-eye and printed, but it still cropped funny and did jpg jaggyness. He called tech support and someone from Texas "drove" the computer and it still printed incorrectly. I finally got the manager to load the picture directly from the card to the photo printer. While it fixed all the other problems (color and jaggyness), it still cropped funny. After an hour and a half of me trying to watch what the manager was doing and juggling Ben as he got crankier and crankier, the manager wrote it off as a translation problem between the computer and the photo printer and suggested that I add an additional 1/16 of an inch to my print to allow for the system to crop it off. Not a solution I was thrilled with. I did end up with 4 copies of each of my 4 layouts, but only 1 that I'd show off. If the manager and tech support can't figure it out, I don't feel comfortable leaving my photos with them.
I've reviewed whcc.com and it looks on the up and up...I might submit the same layout to both places and see what happens.
