Hi there,

I've been receiving the newsletters and shopping avidly in the Boutique for a few months now, but have now finally registered and will start uploading layouts.

Thanks for a lovely site, I'm looking forward to being more involved.

Kathy

Hello Everyone! My name is Freda (MomCat) and I live just north of Dallas, in Allen, Texas. I am very, very new to scrap booking. I don't even have any sofeware yet. I found this site and I am trying to get the ball rolling in finding out the best software for me. Any and all suggestion are needed. lol I have a PC and thought about Photo Shop, but not sure which version I should try or if I should use Photo Shop at all! It's all Greek to me! I know very little about Photo Shop and would have to start from scratch learning the software.

I did visit just last night a scrap booking store and they suggest I might try LifeTimez software. I have NO experience, so I am not sure if this is the way to go for the long haul or not. Most of my pictures are developed film and really I am thinking I need to buy a scanner to even start this process and the right software and maybe enroll in some classes at the Community College. What do you guys think?? I am so overwhelmed and really a lost soul with all of this. lol I don't have a great deal of money to invest alot up front so I want to make the right decisions and buy just the right tools that I need without a lot of trail and error.

I have two grown children and three dogs and I need a hobby, so I am hoping this is the right hobby for me! A gal at the store said I need to purchase a subscribtion of Creating Keepsakes Magazine to the tune of $24.97. Do you guys think it is worth it??

Well, I will run along for now. Hope you all are having fun with your scrap booking and I can't wait to hear what you all have to say!

Hugs MomCat - Freda :banghead:

To all of you lovely people on the message-board, thanks for all your welcomes. I haven't had a chance to sit at my computer since the weekend (hence the belated reply) but Thursday night is traditionally my scrapping night, when my daughter and I sit down and scrap until we drop! Nothing is allowed to stand in our way :-) In fact, we take our laptops to the TV room so that we can scrap AND watch Desperate Housewives!! How's that for a special kind of evening?

Regards all, Kathy
