Turn this Orange Lily
Attached File  Orange_lily_for_tut.jpg (268.94K)
Number of downloads: 12
into this Grey Scale Red Lily
Attached File  Grey_scale_red_lily_for_tut.jpg (237.71K)
Number of downloads: 9
Here's the original tut that I got the idea from
http://www.gopaintsh.../blackwhite.htm

Ok now here's what I did to get my orange to red lily.
Open the orange lily in PSP,
duplicate the layer
Name layer
go to Adjust> color >channel mixer
Click Monochome on, Blue 100% others zero, click OK
change this layers opacity to 69%, blend mode to Luminance (Legacy)

Duplicate color layer again
Adjust>Color>channel mixer
Monochrome checked 75% Green 25% Blue, click OK
Change blend mode on this layer to Lighten.

So your bottom layer is the colored layer,
middle layer is the copy of background
top layer is named layer.
Have fun! I thought this was so cool!

Very cool. I love playing around with the blending modes but haven't ventured into the color/channel mixers. Might have to give this a try!

Thanks so much for sharing. I love new PSP hints. I have PSE4 on my other computer, but trying to use it after using PSP all day at work is a challenge, so I do most of my scrapping in PSPX.

Thanks for the link. I love what you did with your photo.
