I could spend hours searching the internet or even this message board for an answer, but I'm hoping for a quicker answer here (still working on the Tree of Doom).

I'm trying to fill an outline font with a style and can't remember for the life of me how to do it. I did it ages ago and don't know where I got the instructions. I promise to copy them off this time if I get a good answer.

I use PSCS2 on a Mac.

Zaz, I just go to my color/swatches/styles pallette click on "styles" choose a style on the type layer. (remember to rasterize it first). I have PSCS - no MAC - not sure if this is going to help you.

Couldnt ya just select the Outline with the magic wand. fill it then just select the style you want to use? I might be wrong just figure i would try to help ya!

I think this should work for you:

With the magic wand set to contiguous, click on the spaces you want to fill, holding down the shift key to select multiple spaces. Fill those areas with the appropriate color but don't deselect yet. If there is a thin line that did not fill correctly, just expand the selection by 1 px. and fill again, and repeat if needed until the letters are completely filled. Deselect. Now you can apply a layer style.
