I just got the tiles and they look so cool!
I took the background photo during the spring when the mustard was in bloom. Then I drew the Blue Heron in Illustrator and tossed it into Photoshop, where I applied different photos, all taken in the Laguna; to construct the bird. I designed the piece to fit onto the tiles: exactly where the image would be split up. I opted for the natural marble tiles with the tumbled edges.
There are lots of applications for this technique. You could accent your kitchen backsplash, do a bathroom with pictures of the kids swimming, make a table, even mini pages as Trivets, one to a tile. Since Christmas is coming up, I thought I'd share this cool technique as a way to turn your creations into something ceramic!
The company is Pacifica Tile Art and you can google them.
