Sizing Photos.

Using Layout templates, Layered -Fairy dust in CS2, is there an easy way to get my photo to the same size as the mask? and aligning them? Getting them to fit using Edit>Transform is as frustrating as trying to thread a needle!

Any help or tips will be greatly appreciated.

Edit> Transform or Ctrl+T is the way to make your photos smaller (or larger for that matter). When you use that function you may notice along the top Option Bar, you have the ability to type in a percentage in Width & Height (default is 100%). If you click on the little chain link between those two settings, it will size your photo proportionally, which may be slightly easier.

Another way you can do it, is Ctrl+click on the thumbnail (in the Layer Palette) of the layer you are trying to match. You will then see marching ants. Select the photo layer and use Shift+Ctrl+I or Select> Invert Selection and the marching ants will shift to the areas to be deleted. Then use the Delete key to erase the excess areas of your photo.

To align layers, select multiple layers in your Layer Palette by holding down the Shift key + click on layers (for consecutive layers) or the Control key + click (for random layers). Select the Move Tool, and notice the top Option Bar (towards the right) will have alignment icons for choices such as Align Top and Align Vertical Center.

HTH!
