needadietcoke
I have only been digi scrapping for a couple of months and I use PSE 5. The more I do, the more unhappy I am with the "cleanliness" factor- I guess the raster vs. vector issue. I need to upgrade, but there are so many different parts of the CS3. Do I need InDesign or Illustrator? What about Lightroom? I do enjoy designing my own papers and elements, so what do I need?
Jo Corne
Hi Kaye, so exciting that you are going to upgrade... best to go with Photoshop and possibly Illustrator too if you enjoy designing your own elements. InDesign is a 'magazine/newspaper etc' layout programme and is not for digiscrapping. I use InDesign every day at my day job as art director of a magazine and I use it to design the magazine pages. Hope this helps Jo
Tina M
oh wow, I didn't realize there were many optional versions of this CS3.I guess I better do a little reading before putting the wrong version on my Christmas list.. thanks for the insight !!! needadietcoke
Thanks, Jo- that helps. I guess there's not really different "versions" of CS3- but different bundles available. If I can save money buying a bundle I want to do that, but if it has a bunch of programs that I'll never use, then I'll upgrade separately. Jo Corne
No probs Kaye, my pleasure. the whole bundle of CS3 comes with: Photoshop Illustrator InDesign Dreamweaver (web design) Flash (banner design) Bridge Acrobat 8 and a few other things so it really is up to you what you want and if you will use any of the other programmes that come with the whole kit and kaboodle, so to speak. For me, I get them all due to the industry I am in, but as we both agree, for you probably best just to get Photoshop and Illustrator. enjoy, they are super programmes to have
