Scrap Girls Anniversary Weekend Chat Room Schedule - Friday, October 19th

Scrap Girls is turning THREE years old! Yippee! We are having a party to celebrate... and YOU get the presents! Join us for two fun-filled days of classes, crops, challenges, games and events. We've got prizes galore to hand out, so check out some of these great events!

10 AM ET – Scrap Girls Word Search
Hostess Becca helps you find your favorite digital scrapbooking words in this fun puzzle.

11 AM ET - Random Layout Challenge
Half the fun of this challenge is seeing what supplies you’ll end up using. It’s a surprise to everyone to see how you can make it work.

12 PM ET - Round Robin Challenge
Ever done a Round Robin Challenge? Join Pat (PBarnes) in the chat room and find out what it’s all about. You will have until noon on Monday the 22nd to post your finished layout to the Anniversary Party Gallery to be eligible for a prize! Pat will let you know what prize you are playing for at the chat. Come join in the fun!

1 PM ET - Using Color in Your Layouts
Not sure how to use color effectively in your layouts? Join Becca as she gives you some helpful hints on hue.

2 PM ET - Scraplift Challenge
Be inspired by a designer’s layout and create your own in this challenge with hostess Angela.

3 PM ET - Cropping using Shapes, Brushes, and Alphas for PSP, PS, PSE
Join Dee (sailbeachcatz177) for a 30-minute class on cropping photos using custom shapes, brushes and alphas. This interactive class is for PSP and PS(E) users. A PDF with screen shots will be provided the day of the class.

3:30 PM ET - Using the Color Picker to Create Custom-Colored Embellishments for PSP, PS, PSE
Join Dee (sailbeachcatz177) for a 30-minute class on re-coloring embellishments, alphas and papers to coordinate with your photos. Learn how to use the Color Picker to choose a color from a photo to recolor anything. This interactive class is for PSP and PS(E) users. A PDF with screen shots will be provided the day of the class.

4 PM ET - 3 Quick and Easy Ways to Recolor Word Art for PS
Join Jan Hicks for a 30-minute class of Word Art fun. Jan will show you three quick and easy ways to recolor different types of word art. Be ready to start immediately by having three different types of word art open - one which is a single color, one that is two similar colors, and one with lots of texture and several different colors.

4:30 PM ET - Gradient Map Magic for Photos in PS
Join Jan Hicks in another 30-minute class to learn another trick for bringing bland photos back to life using the Gradient Map feature in Photoshop CS. In a few simple steps, you can have vibrant color photos and rich black and white shots. Learn what a Gradient Map is, how it works, and how to use preset and custom-created gradients. Come ready to get right to work by having two landscape photos open in Photoshop.

5 PM ET - Setting up Layouts/Photos as your Screensaver for PC
Wouldn’t it be nice to show off your layouts by using them as a Screen Saver on your computer? Join Anna Mansfield for this free, 30-minute mini class and learn how. A detailed step-by-step tutorial with screenshots makes it easy for you to follow along.

5:30 PM ET - Ideas for Alphas for PS & PSE

6 PM ET with Denise - Aging Brush Class for PS & PSE
Want to learn how to make a grunge brush? Join Denise at 6pm ET for an hour long class taking you step-by-step through the process. A PDF file will be available for download.

7 - 9 PM ET - Make Your Own Sundae
Yummy! Do you like chocolate syrup, sprinkles, and strawberry ice cream? That may actually end up being a brown paper, AYO embellishment and a bow. Join Amy to find out what tasty layout your ingredients will make.

9 PM ET - Life Moments
Come join Carla (crs) for a Life Moments chat and crop! Since we are celebrating Scrap Girls third anniversary, let’s celebrate our own anniversaries! Do you have fond memories from a special anniversary or birthday celebration? Let’s scrap about it! Join us for some chatting, reminiscing and even a prize for one lucky winner!

10 PM ET – Scrap Girls Trivial Pursuit
Calling all brainiacs! Join me, sprinklz, as I challenge you to find all the answers to Scrap Girls Trivial Pursuit. During our chat, I’ll call out specific items from our boutique, message board, and gallery. You will collect links to each of them and email the list back to me. All the correct entries received by Midnight ET tonight will be eligible for a prize drawing. You’ll have to put on your thinking caps for this one!

11 PM ET - Art Inspiration Challenge
Join hostess sprinklz and take inspiration from a non-scrapbooking piece of art and create your own masterpiece.

12 AM ET - Sketch Challenge
In celebration of Scrap Girls Anniversary, we have a surprise sketch artist, Laurel. She’s created a lovely sketch for you to scrapbook from.

Note: While every effort will be made to adhere to this schedule, details are subject to change.

Scrap Girls Anniversary Weekend Chat Room Schedule - Saturday, October 20th

There will be a tutorial with detailed step-by-step screenshots to make it easy for you to follow during class.

5:30 PM ET - Selection Magic for PS & PSE (Mac)
It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3, in this 30-minute class to learn to use selection tools. Laurel will be your guide through this magical skill.

6 PM ET - Scavenger Hunt
How well do you know Scrap Girls? Try your hand at answering ten SG trivia questions. Danna (scrappylibrarian) will post the questions in our Anniversary Party forum shortly before we meet in the chat room. The first person to email the correct answers to demarskda@gmail.com will win an amazing prize!

7 PM ET - Ad Inspired Challenge
Jo has some amazing ads to inspire you to create your own layout.

8 - 10 PM ET - Cram the Chat Room
Toot! Toot! Put on your party hats and come join the fun! It will be digital chaos as we try to cram as many scrapbookers as possible into the Scrap Girls Chat Room with hostess Marnie. Be prepared for lots of silliness, sounds, and super surprises!

10 PM - 12 AM ET - PJ Party!
There is nothing as fun as a PJ Party! Don your comfy nightgowns and fuzzy slippers for two hours of chocolate, chatting, and scoops of ice cream with hostess Angela. Don’t forget your Altoids!

I am going to need some serious amounts of coffee if I am going to stay awake while these events are on. Can you get introvenus caffene? Living in the future is not all it is cracked up to be. Will my fairy godmother fly me to the states for the weekend so I'm not in a different time zone?

I'm going to try to get to as many as I can. Don't know how I can possibly do that many layouts. I still have another one to do for the brush class. Maybe I'll just have to do one with cool stamped brushes on it. ;)

Get a pillow for your butts, place snacks and beverages of choice nearby, lock the door (if possible), and set up a list of take-out choices for the family. Maybe string Caution tape around you and the computer.

LOL, V!!

Last year was so much fun... I didn't get off the sofa the entire weekend!! lol!

I hope I can make it to at least some of the festivities this year... right before I read the newsletter, my bf called and was like "lets go out and do something nice on saturday..." and on Friday we already have family plans... boo (well, they are fun plans, actually) I wonder if he would consider watching me play on the computer "something nice" lol...

Ps... the "Cram the Chat Room" description doesn't say the last record that we set.. How many are we trying to cram in this time???

Priscilla - the only things that are geared towards specific software are the classes. PSE is the most popular, therefore there are more PSE classes. However, we are making every effort to have folks familiar with ps, pse, and psp in each class. Please come to the classes - we'd love to have you there.

As for the other events, use whatever software you are comfortable with. Hope you will join in the fun!

Oh my! This would be the worst weekend to have a ton of out-of-town family converging on my home! I'm going to try to get all of my prepping done today so I can play a little tomorrow at least. Maybe sneak in as I can on Saturday too! Ugh! I'm off to make beds, do laundry and clean. I think I'll skip MOPS tomorrow too! Maybe I can get my mom to come over and play with the kids - think she'll stay all day? Is that too much to ask? :P

My gosh!!!! There is an event happening almost every hour!!! Scrapgirls team doesn't want us to move from the computer at all this weekend. I'm looking forward to do some of the sketches or maybe scraplifts. I'm glad there is a sale. When I read yesterday in the newsletter that this weekend was the anneversary....I was wondering if there was going to be a sale....Glad I didn't buy items from the boutique last weekend. Woooohoooooo!!!!!
