Join Jan Hicks in another 30-minute class to learn another trick for bringing bland photos back to life using the Gradient Map feature in Photoshop CS. In a few simple steps, you can have vibrant color photos and rich black and white shots. Learn what a Gradient Map is, how it works, and how to use preset and custom-created gradients. Come ready to get right to work by having two landscape photos open in your program.

Note: There will be helpers to answer questions for the other software programs in all of the classes. So even though a class may state that it uses a specific program, all of the classes are open to everyone.

I will post a link to download the PDF closer to class time.

I hope the book will be available for those of us not able to make it... I've read a little about Gradient maps, but that is the t-total extent of it!

Hi! Loved the pdf, but could only get in on a bit of the class. Will the transcript be posted here, or is is somewhere else?

Thanks!!

Oops, sorry! Just found the announcement about the transcripts not being recorded.

Here's my question. I use PSE. When picking the colors for a gradient, can I use the eyedropper tool to pick the colors? Or, is there a way to "remember" the colors in my LO or have PSE use colors that match my background?

Thanks!!!

Julie

Julie, when the Color Picker Tool is open, (it comes up when you click the little colored rectangle at the bottom of the Gradient Editor window), your cursor changes to an eye-dropper. You should then be able to go to your photo or layout and sample a color from there for your gradient.

HTH! :)
