I gave up on trying to follow. Hopefully someone will post transcripts later. I'm pretty good at photoshop but that was just way to fast.

Yeah, it was moving too fast for me, too. Anna said she would post a translation for the PDF for PSE later in this thread. Maybe the other software gurus will translate to other programs, too. HTH

Hey Everyone! Here is my translation for PSE for Dee's class! Hope it helps you figure it out! I wrote it to go along with each section of her PDF, so you'll want to have that open as well.

Re-Coloring Paper, Alphas, and Embellishments in PSP

The Color Replacer Tool:

PSE doesn’t have a Color Replacer Tool. Instead, we will use the Colorize function of the Hue/Saturation window.

1. Use the Eye Dropper Tool to select the color that you want the paper (or portions of the paper) to be.
2. Use the Magic Wand Tool to select all of the color you want replaced. Uncheck the Contiguous box. And, if there are some variations to the color (or some texture to the paper, etc), you may have to increase the Tolerance level.
3. If you click on the paper, but the Magic Wand doesn’t select everything, hold the shift key down and click on the part that wasn’t selected (the shift key allows you to add to your selection, the Alt key allows you to deselect portions).
4. Go Enhance>Adjust Color>Adjust Hue/Saturation
5. When the window opens, check the Colorize box.
6. This matches the Hue exactly, but you may still have to adjust the Saturation and Lighness levels (because the color you started with affects the color change).

Adjust Red/Blue/Green

1. Use the Hue/Saturation Window for this section as well.
2. Rather than checking the Colorize box, just move the sliders until you find something you like.

Adjust Hue/Saturation/Lightness

Again, this is the same in PSE as in PSP. Use the Hue/Saturation window.

The Hue Map:

1. PSE doesn’t have a Hue Map. Another way to change something’s color is to use Color Variations.
2. Select the parts that you want to change by using the Magic Wand Tool.
3. Go Enhance>Adjust Color>Color Variations.
4. When the window opens, click on the different color options.
When the going gets tough, the tough eat chocolate.~Unknown

Anna,

Thanks so much for taking the time to do this for us. I have been trying unsuccessfully for a while to use the color replacer in PSE. I was just about ready to post a question on the MB that would let everyone know how hopelessly clueless I am. I am glad that I didn't have to do that! I will sit down tonight after all the kids' activities to play with this and see if I can get it working. Thanks again!

Kathy
