Does anyone use Digital Image Pro? I love it and I would like to add brushes to the preset brushes. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do this. I have saved files to the brushes folder, but DIP is not recognizing them in the program! Help!!!

In case anyone is interested I found out that it can't be done.... oh well, there is a way to add artsroke and photostroke files, as well as designer edges to customize your program. YAY! always learning new things.

Ok, how do you create and add those?
And what about new designer shapes?

Do you, perchance, have a tutorial link? ;-)

This is how I learned to do it, it is kind of complicated so I will just post the link.

The artstroke one I heard you can do, but I haven't got it to work yet! I will keep working with it.

I have also recently learned of a photoshop brush viewer, where you can export PS brushes as .png files, perfect for DIP users. Trying it out now and when I actually get that one to work too, I will post it!

Have FUN!

Thanks! I'll take a look. I've imported artstrokes into DIP before, but never made my own. Same with shapes, and seems like something else, too, if I remember correctly. I can't find my original DIP9 CDs, and I must not have loaded everything (though I can't imagine that -- I always load all the options for a program because I hate having to locate the CDs later! LOL!), because when I choose "More shapes", it asks me for the CDs, and I have no clue where they went to after my husband decided to tidy up the computer area after the last OS upgrade! :-( I've tried doing a search for some sites where people had extra shapes for download, but the only ones I've ever found were freebies in one of the scrapbooking galleries. So, it would be nice to make some of my own (unless I can figure out how to take some off of my old Picture It! CDs.....hmmmmm).

I'm actually thinking about upgrading to Digital Image 2006 Library, though, after seeing that Costco is running a $45 rebate (you file online on their site), and Microsoft is running a $30 rebate on top of that (need proof of purchase, so the Costso online filing shouldn't interfere with that -- Microsoft form is on their site - good until 10/31). I think that may be my weekend project. I think the library feature would be really handy with all the kits I've acquired now.

Anyway, thanks for the info, and I'd love any other links you're able to find!
Jan

This is a fun download. You can view all photoshop brushes without having photoshop! Also, you can export them to a file and it saves them as a .png so we DIP users can use them! yeah!

here is the link:

Also Jan, the Library feature is so worth having! I don't know what I would do without mine. It really helps organizing all the stuff that builds up with digital scrapbooking!

I just read about that program in Sunni's list email, and thought that I might have to give it a try (even if there was another WinXPPro user who was having some problems -- I'm pretty sure I have all the right Net elements installed -- I hope!). There are so many more brushes for PS, it kind of reminds me of the difference between Windows and Mac, or Palm & Windows handhelds formats, and the availability of software programs! But having conversion software can often make a huge difference!

There was also a thread at SBB asking for suggested tuts, so I tossed in my 2 cents. I went looking in parts of the program for things I had noticed before, but never made a list of. We'll see what they think. SBB was definitely where I had gotten the other downloads for DIP. The newest downloads are really cute. I'm going to have to play, and try the tuts. I'd forgotten that I had done the custom stamping before, with an image with a transparent background. I need to go back and do some more of that, too, and refresh my memory. Sometimes I just stumble into things, and then I forget where they are....

In any event, there should be some new tuts of some sort coming along in the near future. Just depends on what catches their interest!
