i have a flat bed scanner... and normally it will scan the edges and give me an automatic transparent edges... does that make sense? for photos anyways... but if i add something, like a button and scan it, i get shadows and i get a bunch of white space. There is a cute cute button bookmark my daughter made that id love to scan... but im not sure how to scan it right?

I haven't done much scanning, so I don't know if I can help, but my suggestion would be to put a piece of white paper behind the bookmark when you scan it, then use your magic wand tool (I'm not sure - does psp have a magic wand??) to delete the white after you're done scanning.

Mine doesn't give me automatic transparent edges, but to avoid the shadows on bulky objects, make sure the room you are scanning in is dark. The lid of the scanner is usually white and will give you the white background. I use the magic want tool as well. Good luck!

Hey Angela, my Canon doesn't give me transparent edges either. If you are scanning anything with any dimension to it, you probably will get shadows. You'll hust have to deal with them in your editor. I have found that if the scanner cover is sticking up any, putting a dark colored cloth over the whole scanner helps.
