I don't have a tut but all you need to do is use a gear shape and apply a bevel to it then do the same thing for a plain cirlce shape and place the beveled circle over your gear shape and center it. You of course play with the settings in your EasyPalette to get the look that you want but here is an example of some that I made for my Retro Revisted collection which is not yet available here at Scrap Girls but coming soon! I hope this helps you out a little bit.

Here is a blank PNG file for you to work from. I made this in PI. you should be able to just make a 3D circle, apply any decoration that you want and plop it on top of this to make your cap.
Click on this image to get the full size image and then right click and save as to your HD.
