Armi Custodio
Browsing through comic book ads as a child, I so wanted to get, as advertised, the "Amazing live sea monkeys, a bowl full of happiness". I had visions of my Sea Monkey family with the girl sea monkeys with ribbons in their hair. Much to my disappointment, they turned out to be small shrimps. It was nothing like it was pictured in the comic book ads!
lgsouthfla
One year in my twenties I got a curling iron and a hair dryer from my mom...she also gave me money but to open those gifts was so disappointing.
podiumchick
When I was about 10 or so I just HAD to have a Charlie McCarthy doll. I thought it would be SO cool to have that out of the Sears catalog. On Christmas there was a box JUST the right size to be Charlie. I don't really remember what was in that box--some sort of game I think. But no Charlie. A few years ago one of my DS wanted a Charlie McCarthy and I made sure he got one. He even did a comedy routine with him in a 4-H talent show.
