Hello wonderful SGAs and SGU (there is at least one out there)!!!

I just got an email from the officer in charge of U.S. Immigration in Haiti and, by the sounds of it, they just need to see Janae's passport and they will finalize things!!!!! She has had a passport since October!!! Now my only problem is reaching the people in Haiti to take that passport to the Immigration office. SOOOOOO...could you pray once more that we can get that done quickly? I've tried calling the U.S. Director of our orphanage at both her numbers and there was no answer at either of them. I emailed her and the adoption liaison. I just need one of them to try to call our processor in Haiti. For some reason there has been a lot of trouble getting through on the phone lines to Haiti lately. But I also know that our God can accomplish anything He wants to.

I was not terribly hopeful today. From the looks of things when I got up this morning, there wasn't a way out. Now there is some light! But we're not home yet, so keep praying please.

I'll let you all know when I hear something from someone so you'll know how to continue to pray.

December 26th
I just got off the phone with U.S. Immigration and they APPROVED our file!!! It will be on it's way to the Consulate tomorrow morning. We still need a visa appointment, but I'm very hopeful that it won't take long to get. There is a MAJOR Haitian holiday in the way (Independence Day is January 1st), but I'm hoping we can get in shortly after that. Keep up those prayers! It just might get exciting around here shortly!!!

Oh what great news! I have been dragging around today, very tired from too much work yesterday and just plopped down by the computer for a minute. So glad I did!! This news made my day. I have already sent up a prayer and am hoping to soon see news of sweet little Janae's homecoming!!!

Our processor has been contacted and he will get the passport to Immigration first thing in the morning (it just couldn't be done today).

They are also going to try to get Janae to her medical appointment tomorrow (required for visa) so they are ready when the visa appointment comes up.

No, she can not be here in time for Christmas, Jan, but we will be thrilled if we jump over this hurdle before Christmas.

The offices will all be closed on the 24th and 25th so nothing will happen again until Wednesday at the earliest. Also, January 1st is Haitian Independence Day and it is VERY difficult to get flights in or out of Haiti anywhere near that day. It's a BIG deal in Haiti. If we get word, though, we will do whatever we can to go get her. We have a family wedding on December 30th and Isaiah's 5th birthday is January 4th. This could get messy.

We'll figure it out. I'm just glad to be thinking about these scenarios again.

You know Carol Ann, the first thing I look for on the message boards each time I get here is news from you about Janae.
