Can anyone help me? I've added a few PNG elements to my PowerPoint scrapbook pages and when I turn the page into a JPG (in order to get it printed), a blue line appears along the edge.

If I crop the element, the blue line disappears but then the element looks rigid and square.

Thanks for any help. It's nice to know I'm not the only one using PowerPoint! It's all I've got for now.

Hi and WELCOME!! I'm sorry, I can't help with your problem, but it looks like Sarah is on it! And just so you know, since Photo Shop Elements 6 came out you can get Photoshop Elements 5 on ebay for about $20.00!! (and I think 5 was better anyway!) It's an excellnt program for digital scrapbooking!! I look forward to getting to know you better and don't be afraid to ask lots and lots of questions!!

I haven't been able to get PNGs to work right for me in Powerpoint either. Of course, I haven't tried it in my brand new version of Powerpoint - just the older one on my desktop. I always get black around them when they print even though they look fine when I build the slide.

This one - while in geek-speak - says a lot. It says that Powerpoint inheritantly creates lower quality JPGs and messes up PNGs in the process. Then the guy gives back-end advice to fix it.

I also found this:

Nothing. That is, you're not doing anything wrong, PowerPoint is. It doesn't
support transparency very well.

One thing that sometimes helps is to select the transparent [whatever] plus
everything it sits atop; copy that then choose Edit, Paste Special, PNG and
paste it back onto the slide; then delete the original stuff.

Sorry, I couldn't duplicate your problem, but I have Vista and PowerPoint2007, so maybe the problem has been fixed. I made a quick layout, added some .pngs and saved as a jpg. Opened it back up in PowerPoint and in PSP and there were no blue lines. Hopefully the information Ro found will help you!

Ro - Your copy and special paste trick worked like a charm -- thanks! You guys are all so nice. I'll paste my page -- it's pretty simple, nothing like what you guys do.

Does anyone have a suggestion for printing individual pages if you use PowerPoint, besides Kinkos? I contacted Picaboo, but they won't do pages that aren't bound.
