Does anyone do this, or know anyone who has, or is thinking about it? There are so many choices even within just WW. I was wondering about it before I take the leap. Usually I can do it on my own but lately that has failed to work for me. Any input is much appreciated.

I've done it for years. Was at goal weight for several, and I think my wacked out thyroid is why I'm not right now. :D I know there was a fairly new WW leader on the MB, but can't remember just who it is.

I'm a lifetime member! I did the best at it when I worked at McDonnell Douglas, and the WW meetings were in a conference room right at work during lunch. I go back periodically, but I'll have to pay for the meetings until I get back to goal weight! I think it's a great program--really emphasizes healthy eating, but being aware of how much you're eating through the diary.

Hi Jennifer. April has a good memory! I am a new WW leader and have been a lifetime member since 1993. I lost 30+ pounds back in the 90's and kept it off until I had my first child in 2000. I have returned after each child and have taken the weight off, or at least almost all off, before having another baby! So, I am a repeater :-) I went back last year after I stopped nursing my little girl (baby #3) and took off 42 pounds :-) I am in the best shape of my life and really can't say enough about the WW program.

WW does offer choices- choices about how to join- pay weekly, monthly pass, etc- along with choices about what type of food plan you will follow- flex or core. I think that is one of the things that I like the most- you are in control and you don't have anyone giving you a long list of what you can and can't do. There are rules but they are quite reasonable.

If you have anything specific you want to know just PM me or post again. Like I said, I am a long time WW and really believe in what they do. Anyone else here a WW member? Any inspirational stories to share?
Jenn

I've been a lifetime member since 2004. And didn't have to pay for a meeting until after my mother died last January. :(

I reached my goal weight a couple of years ago, but then blew it. I have about 9 pounds to lose to get back to my goal weight. A co-worker and I went to WW at Work together and really encouraged each other. But, several months after I reached my goal, I quit going back for the weigh-ins. Big mistake. The weight slowly crept back on. After 17 pounds crept back, I took charge again (around Thanksgiving), and lost about half of it, and am working on the other half. We had an amazing leader. She's so inspiring.

I am a long time WW follower and am thinking about joining on line again. I take a med that makes it almost impossable to lose weight but at least I can maintain where I am with the plan and not gain more.

Thank you all for your input. I'm getting excited here. One question is do you follow the Flex or Core Plan? I can't decide. It would be nice if I could mix it depending on what's going on that week. It sure sounds like it's a lifetime commitment, which is fine I just have to get in that mental state. I'm looking forward to eating healthier and being around for grandchildren, which is looong time off! LOL Is it easy to follow and feed your family at the same time?

I'm a WW member both online and at work. I love the Core plan - it just fits my lifestyle the best - and I'm never hungry.

Hi again Jennifer-
You CAN switch between Core and Flex depending on what your week will be like. WW does ask that you stick with a plan for the whole week though- no core one day and flex the next. But, if you want to use one plan one week and switch to the other the next week you can do that! Isn't that awesome?

It is completely easy to feed your family. I don't do anything different for my kids and DH. I cook the same stuff I have always made, with a few exceptions. For me, it was all about portion size and realizing what and how much I was eatting. Some of my kids' favorite meals are ones I have picked up through WW members! Good luck! You CAN do it!

I followed the flex plan. It was a better fit more me. The portion control is the real key. I would make dinner for the family than just watch the portions and load up on the veggies or other free or low point foods. If I made something for dinner that was high points or hard to exercise portion control (like chicken casserole - I could eat half of the casserole in one sitting), I would feed the kids and clean the kitchen and talk to the kids while they ate, then I would have a Lean Cuisine. It's all a mind game for me. The hard part would come later in the evening when I would be watching TV. I would want dessert. For me, it's better if I don't eat anything after dinner, even WW desserts, fruit, or anything. So, now, I'm on my laptop while I'm relaxing in front of the TV. I'll be perusing the SG messageboard or window shopping. Keeps my hands busy, and I don't like to stop to snack. Like I said, it's all a mind game for me!

My husband and I joined online last June. It has worked great. He has lost 38 lbs and I have lost 30. We went off through the holidays but are back on now. I was on it in the early 90's but have too busy of a life to go to meetings. So the online way really worked for us. I have to say that I didn't like their message board. There were some inspirational stories but also some meanies. Especially as compared to Scrap Girl's MB. It would be fun to share tips and tricks here instead. I still have quite a ways to go but I feel that this life style is very liveable.

I just came across this thread! My Dh is interested in joining WW! He lost weight before from this. I am almost at my weight goal or atleast the weight The dr wants me to be.....But if you guys remember my DH was going to have surgery and then last minute they cancelled it on him due to health insurance...Well he is thinking about joining WW again. Do you have to join and go to meetings? OR can you do this online only?

We do it online only. My husband has to have a hip replacement in about 3 weeks. I think he will recover so much better without the extra weight.

I'm a lifetime member, although now I have to pay, cause I am above my goal weight. My eye problems from two years ago, cause me to go into a bit of depression, and I gained 15 pounds. I have since then lost 5, and at this mornings weigh in, I lost another 2, so I am getting back there. This is a great program to follow, and is probably the healthiest as far as diets go. It teaches you how to eat everyday like a "normal person".

The other diets are just that a temporary diet. This teaches you how to live healthy and make everyday healthy choices. Best one as far as I'm concerned.

Thanks Jenn, by the way that's how I spell mine too! LOL You have been a great help, I like the idea that I can switch. Hopefully it'll help my family to eat healthier also then. I'm going Tues to sign up for the monthly pass with a friend from work. Wish us luck

I agree about the message board I checked some of it out and was not too impressed. Maybe we could be aloud to start to one here. No matter what I don't think we'll ever be able to find such a nice bunch of friends like we have here.

Count me in if you have a WW discussion group. I am signing up Wednesday after work. My weight is completely out of hand. Not only am I way overweight, but health-wise I can tell I need help.

Good luck everyone.

I'm up for a WW discussion. It never hurts to get support from more than one place. You guys are right about the messageboards. I love their boards for certain things but you certainly don't get that warm, fuzzy feeling you get from here! SGs is one of a kind!

Well, I joined tonight. I think I'm going to start out on the flex plan so I get use to portion control and I can still have everything I love. I will probably use the core plan when I get bored or frustratede, but right now, I do like my bread which I can't have on core.

Good luck everyone.

Good going Debbie. I weighed in yesterday. (Hadn't been since November- mostly because I was sick) Was exactly the same weight I was the last time. :D Maybe I'll get to move my ticker next week.

I'm so up for a WW support topic. Never hurts to get extra support.

April, if it stayed the same, and that was through the holidays, that is an accomplishment. I gained at at the holidays.

Great job on not gaining over the holidays April! I had my members set goals at the beginning of the "feeding season" as to what they wanted to happen. We even said it was OK to say they would gain a few over the holidays. Just wanted us to have a clear stopping point and to be realistic. How great that you didn't gain!!! Way to go!

Congrats Debbie! I did it too, I signed up Tues and I'm on my 2nd nite now. Wow not too bad but I am a little hungry. Water does seem to help some. Work is the hardest but I made it through day 1. I chose the Flex also. I like the idea that we can switch it up if we get bored, or need a boost. Probably the hardest today was like when I quit smoking, after certain things I do during the day I was so used to eating something, anything and today I had to stop and think. Strange to compare the 2 but I guess both could be considered addictions. Anyways, if any one has any filling 1 point foods I'm interested.

So Jenn, what would we have to do to get that? Obviously run it by our wonderful CEO Ro, but what else. Do you know? Let's run with this! WW and DigiScrappin! How much better can it get! LOL

I am on day 3 and it hasn't been too bad. Today I had my little 1 year old grandson, so he kept me busy and my mind off food. My problem is if I'm not busy, I want to eat. Still have to go to the grocery store and stock up on things. I too wouldn't mind 1-2 pt. suggestions. I'm not a big raw vegetable eater, or maybe I should say my body makes me pay for eating carrots, cauliflower, etc as a snack food. Cooked is fine though. I'm having trouble getting my water in.

I'm up for it, too! I lost 23.5 lbs from April to Oct. My last weigh-in was 10/21. I weighed in 1/07 and I had only gained 2 lbs. I was quite pleased as I didn't keep track of my points at all during those 2 and a half months. I have lost those two lbs this week and I am feeling pumped. I am ready to go at it again. I had not lost any for about 4 weeks before I fell off plan, so I am hoping that I can jump-start the weight-loss again.

Debbie, it gets easier, I promise!
