Oh Denise! I am so upset to hear what has been happening. It is incredible how people can lose their own integrity. Somehow these big companies are places where that happens all the time. It makes you not want to trust people and what they say.

I pray that you are led to exactly where you are supposed to be. I know that God has a plan for all this. He is a God of miracles and I have faith that he will walk beside you through this trial. You will come out on the other side of it.

Oh, my heart and my prayers go out to you. Both my DH and I have found ourselves in your exact "type" of situation on more than one ocassion. Truly, pray and let the LORD lead you path. You will know the right answer in your heart of hearts.

Each time it happened to one of us, we actually came out in a better situation (all though it maybe didn't seem so at that exact moment in time), looking back - we took the Lord's hand and we went the right way.

Trust, Pray, have Faith. He will guide you. My Prayers will be there also as I know it is so hard at this time when others around you may be losing their jobs and that is so hard to deal with, even if you keep yours.

I am continuing to hold you in my prayers. You are really in a terrible situation, and I pray for your peace and well-being.

Denise, I am SO SORRY for these brick walls and run arounds that you are getting. You SEE people in these kinds of situations. That kind of run-around and ducking behind closed doors to avoid doing what is essentially her job is inexcusable. Although, I imagine she is making every excuse in the world.

I'm saying another prayer for you right now - and will keep you on my prayer list.

Vent away here anytime - it's better than holding it all in and making yourself sick. Please keep us informed.

adding my prayers to the list...

Meanwhile, the Very Big Company that I work for has some openings in NJ, including some in testing, though for a different type of app than you're used to working with. And I know at least a few divisions of the company allow the kind of flextime you're talking about; one of my coworkers does something similar. Ping me if you have a web site with resume or have more info about what you've done in the company you've bene working for....

Oh Denise, I'm so sorry to read about the developments in your situation. It is all so familiar to me and I'm sad that you're having to go through it. I'll certainly remember you in my thoughts and prayers.

I've had lots of people remind me of my saying, "In five years, I'll be alive and this will all be over," recently. Maybe you and I will have to hang onto that together, eh?

Love ya...

and the final score is ..... big company=thousands of wins, me = 0 wins.

Well HR succeeded in it's task. They found some stupid little thing the hiring manager didn't know he was supposed to do and it's reason enough to stop me. The official word is that he didn't have approval before posting the job ad. Personally, I think this is stupid. The man is hiring about 20 people. I have a hard time picturing him hiding this fact from his boss'.

The other people who post for these jobs that aren't outsourced, will have no problems getting the job. It's one of those things where it's not considered majorly important UNLESS someone is specifically looking for a reason to block you.

So my 21 year career with this company will be over on 2/24/08. I'll be working for another company doing the same thing for as long as that lasts.... probably 12 months.

I'm trying very hard to NOT be bitter about this entire thing ... it's not working.

Thanks for your prayers.

Denise

Denise I am so sorry. My heart goes out to you. What an awful start you have had to 2008.Perhaps,just perhaps, this means that when you start to look a wonderful job comes up,something you never had thought of and which you will enjoy so much more than your old one.I know that is not much comfort at the moment but keep strong and this time will move far behind you

Wow Denise. Words can't express how much....well....this just plain sucks and I'm really sorry you have to go through this. I will pray that God turns the spotlight back on and that it shines brighter than anything you could ever ask or imagine! If He chooses to just light a small candle then I pray that you hang on to Him and continue to place your hope and trust in Him.

I just saw this and read through much of it now. What a roller coaster ride you've been on. I'm sorry for all the stress. Sometimes when we're not given what we want we think we're being punished, but God has something better in mind for us. I hope you find this to be the case in your life. I read a story once about a little girl who had a string of fake pearls that she loved. Her father kept asking her for the pearls and she wanted to give him anything else. Finally she gave him the fake pearls and he gave her a velvet box with a real pearl necklace in it. He'd had it for months waiting for her to give up the fake ones so he could give her the real ones. I hope your situation turns out the same.

((((((hugs and prayers for you))))))

edit: I did some searching and here is a link to the story I mentioned. There seem to be many versions on the web, but this was one I liked best. Just scroll down the page to the heading Jenny's necklace.

Denise, sorry this isn't working out the way you wanted it to. I know how stressful it can be when it seems your financial security is hanging by a thread. I firmly believe that all things happen for a reason. Sometimes we learn this reason, sometimes we search our whole life and can't understand why things happen the way they do.

One of Ro's muses really stands out for me: it's the story of a man who visits both of his daughters and finds each are praying for the opposite things. The moral of the story was if one got all they prayed for, someone else's prayers would go unanswered. Sometimes our prayers are not answered the way we expect them to - but again I firmly believe that if we're not given what we ask for, God provides something else in due time.

Keep having faith and a positive attitude and I believe all things will work out for you, maybe in a way you least expect. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
