I'm not one to put these kind of things on websites, but today I'm going to. We are moving in less than 2 weeks. Today is our HUGE 2-family rummage sale that's been advertised all over our little town (even on the "bulletin" board on our local TV station that airs 24/7). We've been expecting a HUGE crowd (as evidenced by all the phone calls we've been getting). Well, don't you know, we're having a blizzard today -- 60-70 mph winds, up to 8 inches of snow (if it stops going horizontally!LOL!). On top of that, I've strained my back in the preparations and am now flat on the couch with the heating pad on and have consumed my allotment of Ibuprofen. It's possible that we could still have people here for the sale as we Alaskans in the bush don't let a little wind and snow get in the way of getting stuff for cheap!

I'd ask for prayers for allowing the Lord to be in control of all that happens both today and in the next 2 weeks. He has a giant plan for us, and this must be part of it. We appreciate all your prayers! I'll let you know how it goes!

Debbie

Hang in there Debbie! If you have to reschedule, the Lord knows why! I know it's hard to blindly trust sometimes, But I will be praying for perfect peace, and healing for your body! And for right now, I think you need a :bighug:

Will send my prayers your way. Hopefully the snow will let up and all will come out. What part of Alaska are you from? I have been there, and did not want to come back.

You and your family are in my prayers! I know that you need s boost and He has just the one for you. Just rest and know that.....

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose.

Debbie,
Isn't that the way it always goes? So sorry you hurt your back. That really stinks.
Just take it easy and things WILL work out.
Hugs,

Eliza/Sewkitty

Hi Ladies.
Thanks for the prayers and encouragement. I'm laying on the heating pad in my bed right now. We made it through Saturday!!! My back was an issue off and on through the day, but some horizontal rest with a heating pad and ibuprofen got me through. Thankfully, my DH and a friend of ours were around to pick up the empty spots. The sale went GREAT. Despite 60 mph winds and horizontal snow, LOTS of people came out for the sale. We sold almost everything! We have lots of books and some men's clothes left over. Other than that it's just a little bit here and there. We sold most things for $1 or less and made over $1000 in 4 1/2 hours! i told you we had a lot of junk to sell! LOL!!!!! One lady even reach up on a shelf and pulled out a box of half-used carberator cleaner and some other caustic things that we were going to dispose of and bought it all!!!! I told you people here are ripe for a bargain! It was also a nice time to see people from town that we probably won't see before we leave. We've still got to clean it all up, but that should go quickly when my back is doing better.

Thanks again for the prayers. We certainly know that God is good...even when things don't go "my" way.

You all are fabulous!
Debbie

So happy to hear your sale went well. I'm sure your customers are happy too since you priced it so nicely. Made it worth battling the elements. :D

Debbie, I'm glad everything went so well - as far as the left over books and mens clothes maybe those could be donated to the Salvation Army or a local nursing home - I'm sure they would be greatly appreciated! Good luck with your move and hope your back is feeling better real soon!
