This is not origional, I saw this somewhere else, but it is so much fun to hear how people got their screen names, if they like them, if they have different ones, maybe the screen name you wish you had gotten........

I will start: My screen name is LissaD here, but 3DBsmom everywhere else, I started most of my involvement on the internet after I had my 3rd son. I began to realize that 3DBsmom (3 Dear Boys mom) will not last forever if we are planning to have more kids so I thought I better pick something I can have forever..... LissaD. This is for what my family called me growing up... Lissa, and D for Dawn my middle name. I think this will last a little bit longer than 3DBsmom, although I have enjoyed being 3DB too.
Happy Scrapping,
Melissa Renfro

Mine's not to orginal. First name Angie middle name Leigh. Every always calls me Ang so when I first started signing up for sites etc every version of Ang or Angie was taken so I just added my middle name to it.

Yep, I'm not very original, either. It's all my name, from beginning to end. Me, myself, and I. :disappearing-smilie: Lord knows I don't need anything else to rememeber. hahaha

Mine's a little more creative, but just barely. My initials are JLF and my DH's initials are MJF and I love him very much, hence jlf_loves_mjf.

Well I didnt want to use too much personal info in my screen name, and every version of Ang, angie etc was taken, sooo I started message board when I was having children. I used to use the name momi2girls, back when I was a mommy to two girls, I had changed it to get away from all the spam I had gotten myself into with it, and when I had another daughter, I changes it to momi23girls, as I was then a mommy to three girls. I wnet with momi because it was a little more origional, and less likely taken. I have had either version of this name for about 9 years now, and used it in all sorts of boards from parenting to genealogy to here.

Its funny though some people have read it and thought I had 23 girls.

Good question really and great way to see how people think of things, lol. Well, now for the question of how I got my screen name, lol. I wanted it to have something to do with angels and also wanted it to have something about rememberances in it, so I thought momentous sounded better than remembrances, lol, and then just attached angel at the end, :) momentousangel was chosen a long time ago, I've had this name for so many things and for so long, that any other just wouldn't be the same, :). My screen name was pretty much a reminder to remember the angels who were there when I needed someone to lean on, :).

Oh this is really interesting actually. Although, I'm really boring - my screen name - Diane - is my name LOL I've been online since about 1995 and I've always used my real name. If Diane isn't available than I use DianeUK! Again, boring - just shows that my name is Diane and I'm from the UK LOL

Well, being a meteorologist, wx is short for weather. In my early days as a college student at Penn State, I worked at Accu-Weather and at a bar named Zeno's. One of my professsors used to come in all the time and tell me I should do TV weather, because he thought I was "too attractive" to be a government employee. I just laughed at him because I didn't want to do TV...little did I know that that is where my life would end up...

Anyway, he'd come in and ask for the "weather chick". That was me. I shortened it to wxchic and have been using it as my username for years. Funny how a question like this where you have to recall something like that brings back all those memories.

When you are a meteorologist and you want to get paid more, you apply for your "Television Seal of Approval" from the AMS (American Meteorological Society). When I did back in 91, that same professor was on the board. When I got my approval letter that I "made" it, there was a little scrawl on the bottom that said "I told you, weatherchick!"

It was pretty funny!

I got my first computer in order to write a book called "A Shopper's Guide to Cruelty-free Products." The publisher thought I should go online (which was very, very, new at that time and something I'd never done) so readers could contact me. I wanted to go with Cruelty-Free to tie into the book, but at that time Aol only allowed you so many letters and no symbols, so it got shortened to Crueltyfre. After using it for so many years people got to know me by it and so I've kept it.

I'm boring and unoriginal - it's my name!

But, it's a fairly unusual name, and not popular so I can always get my screenname!

In Anne of Green Gables, Anne is always looking for "kindred spirits," people who are kind and sympathetic, and share her interests and dreams. Well, that's perfect for me. (All together now....Awwww!)

Oddly enough, my real name is spelled exactly the same (but pronounced differently) as a line of dwarf kings in Lord of the Rings!! Purely coincidental, and definitely unromantic!

My cousins said I was always so "Bubbly" when I was a child. When I first started on the internet, I tried to get Bubbly as my name, but it was always taken. Then at the MSN site, it gave me 3 alternatives, Bubbly94 was the one I chose (Still have that in MSN groups, so if you see it, it's me! :) ). Then last year, I was registering on a new site and it hit me, why not use my first name with the bubbly?????? So, I became BubblyKori.

Now, how did I get the name Kori? That is my actual legal name on the birth certificate. My older sister is Lori. My mom wanted rhyming names, she tried a few, narrowing it down to Jori and Kori. I became Kori. This was 1963. I lived for almost 39 years before hearing another person with the same spelling! I have had to spell my name forever! Twice in my life has someone actually spelled it correctly without seeing it first! At least after I got married, I didn't have to spell my last name any more (my maiden name had a silent letter!)

Mine is my initials, but with a twist. I've always been a Superman comic fan & all his girlfriends had the double L initials, too. Hence, LL2.

Kori, don't feel bad. I've had to spell my name forever too. And correct the pronunciation.

Not too original ...

My name is Sue and "scrappy" seems to describe me at the moment (a bit absent minded, and on the scrapbooking front, well my paper LO's are a bit of a disaster!!). Does this make sense, what was I saying ........ :D !!!

This is very interesting! So neat to read screen naming stories... the name you choose yourself to describe yourself to strangers at first glance because they don't actually see you!

Mine is new to me, and I've only ever used it at Scrapgirls. When I had to choose a name upon registering here I happened to be feeling like I have always been and will always be studying something. I started a Masters course this year and it seems like I'm always studying. As well, scrapbooking is still kinda new to me so I feel like I'm learning something every time I get a chance to play. I like studying, although it can be overwhelming and challenging and exhausting.

I chose a new name because all my previous nicknames haven't stuck. The best one, which still lingers amongst die-hards, was when I was Tigger or Tiggs for the 4 years of college getting my BA. Everyone called me that, even my professors. My name-tag at work was even changed because so many classmates came in looking for me. But when I graduated and moved to England it didn't come with. I like my real name and it felt like it was time to be me again. But me now feels like Student4Life... funny how things change.

I hope I didn't write too much... as wxchic mentioned the memories just come flooding back.

Very cool stories! Theresa, I love your story of "weather chick." (Teachers...they know what they're talking about!)

I am a Christian and my relationship with the Lord defines who I am. While I want to be successful and appreciated at whatever I do, I ultimately only want to be known as "His" Thao. When it comes down to it, it's just Him and me. :)

I use this screenname a lot. I just can't think of anything better!
