I will start: My screen name is LissaD here, but 3DBsmom everywhere else, I started most of my involvement on the internet after I had my 3rd son. I began to realize that 3DBsmom (3 Dear Boys mom) will not last forever if we are planning to have more kids so I thought I better pick something I can have forever..... LissaD. This is for what my family called me growing up... Lissa, and D for Dawn my middle name. I think this will last a little bit longer than 3DBsmom, although I have enjoyed being 3DB too.

To have a friend is to have a shoulder to cry on, a hand to hold and an extra pair of legs when yours are too weak to stand alone...
I have been living buried in books and writing classes... as an added note I must say that it is rather scary when you start dreaming and all you can see within your dreams is words floating everywhere!

Anyway, he'd come in and ask for the "weather chick". That was me. I shortened it to wxchic and have been using it as my username for years. Funny how a question like this where you have to recall something like that brings back all those memories.
When you are a meteorologist and you want to get paid more, you apply for your "Television Seal of Approval" from the AMS (American Meteorological Society). When I did back in 91, that same professor was on the board. When I got my approval letter that I "made" it, there was a little scrawl on the bottom that said "I told you, weatherchick!"
It was pretty funny!

But, it's a fairly unusual name, and not popular so I can always get my screenname!

Oddly enough, my real name is spelled exactly the same (but pronounced differently) as a line of dwarf kings in Lord of the Rings!! Purely coincidental, and definitely unromantic!

Now, how did I get the name Kori? That is my actual legal name on the birth certificate. My older sister is Lori. My mom wanted rhyming names, she tried a few, narrowing it down to Jori and Kori. I became Kori. This was 1963. I lived for almost 39 years before hearing another person with the same spelling! I have had to spell my name forever! Twice in my life has someone actually spelled it correctly without seeing it first! At least after I got married, I didn't have to spell my last name any more (my maiden name had a silent letter!)

Kori, don't feel bad. I've had to spell my name forever too. And correct the pronunciation.

My name is Sue and "scrappy" seems to describe me at the moment (a bit absent minded, and on the scrapbooking front, well my paper LO's are a bit of a disaster!!). Does this make sense, what was I saying ........

Mine is new to me, and I've only ever used it at Scrapgirls. When I had to choose a name upon registering here I happened to be feeling like I have always been and will always be studying something. I started a Masters course this year and it seems like I'm always studying. As well, scrapbooking is still kinda new to me so I feel like I'm learning something every time I get a chance to play. I like studying, although it can be overwhelming and challenging and exhausting.
I chose a new name because all my previous nicknames haven't stuck. The best one, which still lingers amongst die-hards, was when I was Tigger or Tiggs for the 4 years of college getting my BA. Everyone called me that, even my professors. My name-tag at work was even changed because so many classmates came in looking for me. But when I graduated and moved to England it didn't come with. I like my real name and it felt like it was time to be me again. But me now feels like Student4Life... funny how things change.
I hope I didn't write too much... as wxchic mentioned the memories just come flooding back.

I am a Christian and my relationship with the Lord defines who I am. While I want to be successful and appreciated at whatever I do, I ultimately only want to be known as "His" Thao. When it comes down to it, it's just Him and me.
I use this screenname a lot. I just can't think of anything better!
