"MAD" adds a little mystery to it though. MAD could mean many things.

Back when we first started homeschooling in 1995, dh and I had to come up with a name for our school. Dh was very into wood working and wanted some kind of tree in the name. We found mentioned in the Bible that Abraham rested under terebinth trees. We liked that, so our school name became Terebinth Academy.
When I went to get an email for our school, Terebinth_Academy was taken, so I used Terebinthtree instead. The name stuck and I’ve used it ever since.
Terebinth trees are still around in the Middle East. The tree is similar to an oak tree.

Used to avoid confusing people.
Used so that they would know who to blame, who to ask questions of, who to throw purple confetti at if they get tired of all of the purple here at Scrap Girls (which, by the way - in case you don't have a monitor that sees the color correctlyy - is actually a pinky color not a blue-purple! If you print it out on a good printer, you will see what I mean...)
Ro
Actually, shortened version of my real name - Rozanne - which nobody can get right. The X in the Paxman keeps migrating over there and messing it up. Then people get embarrassed because they get it wrong. If I don't correct them, they get embarrassed that I didn't tell them bout it. So Ro keeps everyone from getting embarrassed.
Ro
Easier to type. Since I type so much, that is a good thing.
Ro
I now have the name RO hanging on my wall, so that means that is is permanent. If you have something hanging on your wall, it has to be permanent right?

Now that I am a stay at home mom and no longer in the financial services industry, maybe I'm just trying to hang on to a little piece of the old me? I'm proud to be a mom!

SFC= Sergeant First Class
G.I. Jill= I've been called that since high school ROTC. It was pretty unusual to see a girl in ROTC then- very very common now.
I was GI Jill years and years before Demi Moore tried to be a GI Jane. (ha! I laugh at that movie! best military comedy since Stripes!)
I've been sfcgijill ever since I first logged on the internet. Tried to change many times, nothing else really fits.

Nothing too creative here...first name, last inital
Some are sharp, some are pretty. Some are dull while others are bright.
Some have weird names. But they all exist nicely in the same box.

Originally, I started using this ID as my Ebay ID. I'm a total Ebay addict. Ever since I started using this ID for Ebay, I've pretty much stuck with it on any new ID I need for internet nicknames.
But the original idea came from having 3 children of my own (I also have 2 step-daughters) and my love of dragonflies.
DH is trying to convince me to get a tattoo of 3 little dragonflies, but I'm still not sure I like the idea of being THAT attached to it.

On other message boards I was "sneffy." That was created when I opened up a new email account and wanted a slight variation from my name (S. Neff), because an initial and last name supposedly makes it easy for people to send junk emails. So sneffy became a nickname - and it's cute when my friends use it.
But when I came here, I just decided to be myself.

I couldn't tell you how many times I've heard "April Showers" instead of my name growing up. Can't believe even teachers thought they were being original. But in my early 20's, I decided to Embrace it. First on the cake for my Bridal Shower- where I had my mom pipe "April's Shower."
Now I just smile.
And never tease anyone about their name.

Mine is kinda boring but has been around a long time. My maiden name began with a B and thru school the teachers always took role call by last name/first name so my pals started calling me BS (why my friends thought this was a neat nickname I'll never know!).
Well....BS isnt exactly something I prefer to be called. So when I got married, my new last name began with an S so I combined the two initials and added it to my first name for Shawna B S
Lots of people read it as Shawn abs--boy do I wish my abs were something to write about! LOL

mine's just the last syllable from the 1st word in my name plus the 2nd word in my name - which is also the name i go by everyday. quite a common javanese name in indonesia, and put together, they mean 'on the moon' or 'ms wulan'.
oh yeah, most indonesians do not use first or last names, which is kinda a problem when we register online!
