I posted these pages

in the Gallery here, but they didn't do what I wanted them to which is to rotate between the two pages, to express the duality I was feeling, being in two worlds, alone, but not, scared but safe.

I orginally created the pair of pages as a gif file, but our gallery doesn't support that yet, however it's working as I intended on my Blog.

Now that I can make this happen, the world is suddenly wide open and I am imagining other ways to make digital scrapbooking even more dimensional. It's going to be less static, I've been playing with movies for quite awhile and I think I have a whole new path to explore. I sure wish I could keep up with my brain!

How about you? Any visions of pushing the envelope?

V, I love your way of thinking!!! animated scrapbook pages would be fantastic.

SVG is a technology that, from it's very beginning, I thought was amazing. I would love to see it get better acceptance and get incorporated into digital scrapping... somehow.

Here's a link for more info:

Well, I'v thought more recently that I can see a time soon when some digiscrappers will be using gif and Flash animations to do their layouts so this is quite timely. It's all about progress and trying new things!! I also wish I could keep up with my brain. I have a couple of notebooks on my desk and by my bed and in my handbag (purse) as I constantly think of new things for my digital art/designs.

In terms of pushing the envelope, I have been incorporating my own 3d digital art into my scrapbook designs. I was wary of doing it at first and tried to stick to the "norm" but it's just not me LOL So I've continued to use my 3d digital art. Sometimes I can do a render of a character or a scene and love the colours and that might inspire me or I may use the whole thing to do papers/embellishments etc..

For me, it's all about using whatever tools are availble to me and trying new things. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't but in the end it's all creativity to me!

I have been thinking about this for a little while. I have started experimenting with some different software and flash animators and web-based routines to see if I can find something that might work to put at least some of my pages in motion. I am having trouble finding what I want. The programs that are easy to understand just don't seem to be able to do what I want, and those that are a little more sophisticated also take a Ph.D. in computer engineering to understand. (I have the Ph.D., but it is definitely NOT in engineering). So I venture on, but I certainly would like to talk this over some more with like-minded indivisulas. I think this just may be the next wave in digital scrapping--motion and sound. I'm really psyched that others are thinking about it too!

(dinny - thanks for the link)

Has anyone considered a java script for moving things around on their pages? I know there's a script that allows you to do something like drag and drop images around a webpage, or am I way off? One example of what I'm talking about is some Wild Thornberry's Colourforms, (you've got to remember color forms right?) this script allows you to use an image as the background as well as move things around a webpage by dragging and dropping, etc.? I'm looking for an example of it right now and will post it as soon as I can find it again, :). I think it will work pretty well though so I'm off to find it.
Okay this is something like what I was talking about as far as using Java. This is pretty much the best example of the script I could find for now, so check it out and let me know what you think, :).Cooltoons Thornsberry's Coulorforms. The Java for it is available at The Java Script Source

I've got a pretty cool Flash image viewer coming out in the next SS Digi Issue. I'll have to make a Low-Res version and post it on my site after the mag comes out. Basically, it takes a full-size piece of memorabilia and allows you to browse, pan and zoom the collection. Pretty slick, if I do say so myself.

I also made a pretty groovy "digital scrapbook" with turnable pages as a self-promotional piece, and am working on a timeline API and a little animated doohickey about snowboarding in Mammoth.

I've also been thinking about an album called "My Life in Song Lyrics" that would use an MP3 jukebox built in flash to play the songs I took the lyrics for the spreads from.

Came over on a whim yesterday, and just had to answer this question. I've been busy as a one legged woman in...well, you know the rest ;)

Shoot me an email sometime and let me know what you've been up to!
