Hi Gals. I really need some prayers. I have been sick for almost three weeks now. A week ago yesterday I went to the ER and was diagnosed with a sinus infection and strep. They put me on a strong antibiotic that works for both. I felt a little better by Monday but started feeling worse again. After almost passing out at work on Wednesday I had my mother take me to my regular doctor and he put me on a stronger antibiotic since the strep was looking better but the sinus infection was not. At that point I was having excruciating pain around my left eye, face and my teeth hurt. The pain continued to get worse and I started a fever, over 102 at points. On Thursday I called the on call doctor about 9pm because I was in so much pain and started coughing really bad. My throat was on fire and I have pretty much had no voice since then. He said he would call in some vicoten the next morning or I could go back to the ER and they could give me something for the pain. My mother happened to have some vicoten so I took that but it did not give me much relief. I called the doctor again Friday morning to find out if they had called in the prescription and to find out if they needed to see me again. After noon when I had not heard back from them my mother decided we needed to go to the ER again when I started throwing up. The doctor I saw was very concerned that despite two extremely strong antibiotics I was worse. He did a chest x-ray and a cat scan of my sinuses. By that time I felt so sick I thought I was dying. I was sure they were going to come back and say I had a tumor or something. Both tests came back OK except my sinuses were a disaster according to the doctor. He said they were extremely infected and swollen. They gave me something for the pain and an antibiotic in my iv. He has had me continue to take the oral antibiotic and I have had to go back to the ER for more IV antibiotics and iv pain meds each evening. He also has me on percocet and zofran. Hopefully tonight will be the last time I need the iv antibiotics. I have felt a bit better today but still extremely ill. I have never been so sick in my life. I have pretty much been in bed since Wednesday. My mother and dad have been taking care of Madison while taking care of me too. My poor mother has had pneumonia so she has been sick too. It has been a rough time for all of us. Please keep me and my family in your prayers. It may still be several days before I can go back to work and I don't have any sick time yet because it is a new job. On top of all that my husband and I separated about a month ago. I have been living with my parents. He was here for a few hours on Wednesday to play with Madison, but he has not been here since then. Not to take care of me or to help take care of Madison. I am just so angry at him and I know that is not going to help any with my recovery. He said he wanted to take me to the ER tonight for my antibiotics. I talked to him earlier and told him what time to pick me up. He wanted to know how long it would take. I told him it could be 2 hours or so if they needed to give me more fluids. I asked if that would be a problem and he says, well the super bowl is tonight. I did not have anything to say to that so after a period of silence he said that was OK, he still wanted to take me. If I was not so sick I would have told him off. I just really need concentrated prayers about all of these things. I need healing and strength and peace so I can get through this.

Elizabeth, {{{{hugs}}}}! I'm so sorry this is happening to you - all of it. The illness, ER, no sick days from new job (which is stressful enough) and the separation. I know you've not been online frequently, but I had no idea, other than the new job. Of course, I'll put you in my prayers and thoughts immediately. Things are bound to improve for you - and the sooner the better.

When you feel better physically, you will be able to better deal with the Super Bowl guy! Until then, get plenty of rest and know that you are loved and being cared for. Thank heavens for your parents! We all miss you around here and can't wait to hear you are better.

now this is really scary, I had been thinking of you only this morning driving in to work. Oh Elizabeth sweetie, I am so sorry for your pains, both physical and emotional over the last few weeks. it's bad enough being physically ill but the other is sooooo unnecessary, BUT, if it is the best for you and Maddison Grace, then you have made the right move, no matter how difficult.

I wish you a speedy recovery, no more illness, both physical and emotional, and only steps moving forward in a postive and happy manner. God bless your parents for helping and loving you so. I wish your mom a speedy recovery too.
