I don't really know you, but my prayers go out to you. It must be so hard to deal with such an illness and an ex, and a new job. I hope God can really make His presence known throught this, and I'm so glad that you have family around you.

Dear Elizabeth, I am so sorry you are going through all this. I've also had the horrid non-stop sinus problems, so I have some idea what you're going through. And of course, the emotional upset doesn't help either.

My prayers for you and your family during this time. Please let us know how you're doing when you have the time and energy. God bless you.

Oh Elizabeth, we have been missing your presence around here and I am so sorry to hear you have been ill in addition to family issues to deal with. Thankfully your family is able to jump in and be there for you. Sending up prayers for you for strength and healing.

Thank you all so much. I finished my last round of iv antibiotics last night along with another hefty dose of pain meds. The hospital was a total zoo. we were there for 7.5 hours. I saw my regular doctor today. He said I was looking better but still had a long way to go. He wanted to write me off work all week, but as long as I am not still taking the percocet he will consider having my return to work on Thursday. Thank you for the thought, prayers and kind words. What a wonderful group to have as friends.

Thank you!!

Elizabeth

Elizabeth, my heart breaks for you dear girl. I am certainly praying for your healing, both physically, emotionally and as a family. Such pain is so difficult to bear. You are missed around here so much and I am definately thinking of you.

Elizabeth, this sounds like such an ordeal for you! The pain and discomfort sounds unbearable but I'm glad you're getting through it. From your updated post it seems like you're doing better. I hope the meds continue to work and you completely heal soon! Sometimes it seems all of our stresses come at once ! I'll be praying that you do well and for the situation with your family - hoping for the best for you!

Take care!

I am still not back to work yet but I am doing better. Thanks for the continued thoughts and prayers. It will be several weeks before I feel "normal" again but I am on the way. I am only taking the pain meds at night and I have been keeping food down so that is a major improvement. Thanks again ladies!

Dear Elizabeth, I echo Kaye's response in that God doesn't 'seem' to give us more than we can handle. I remember my mother relaying this exact quote (minus the 'seem' which is entirely my take on it) to me when the going got tough. We have been through years of infertility only to have three children through the IVF program just 2 years apart, and then along came our home made love child. With 4 children under under 3 1/2 my mum quoted the above - not a great consolation at the time. Then we lost our business and practically everything we owned. When one of our twins got sick at 19months his condition was misdiagnosed and he almost died from meningitis. In August of 2006 a trusted colleague in my profession undermined me to the point that I suffered an acute case of depression requiring shock treatment, hospital for 5 weeks and 4 months off work. It has been a long road back to recovery but somehow I got through. Then on the 19th December just past the unthinkable happened again and I have struggled to get through these past weeks. I am currently on sick leave again as I thought I could soldier on. I am an Anglican priest who thrives on helping others but in the process forgot to take care of myself. Last Sunday as I was celebrating the Eucharist I collapsed at the altar and was unconscious for 45 minutes. I'm now not sure how long I will be unable to work but I have a great team of people who are very supportive and eager for my return. So back to that oft quoted saying - God doesn't give us more than we can handle - is true to a point because somehow we get through the tough times with people God puts there to care for us. Things may not be exactly the way we want them to be but in the end we manage and we learn throuh the process. I, personally, don't believe that God wants us to suffer as he loves us unconditionally. In saying that, the obvious conclusion is God doesn't give us any burden at all - it is life that throws us these awful moments and it is these times more than any other that God is there with us.
My prayers are with you and may the God of all life surround you with peace and healing.

Jowel

Elizabeth,
how awful that you have been so ill!
I will pray that God gives you the strength to heal quickly, and that he also gives you peace. And I will pray for your mom and dad too.
Please rest, get better, and know we are thinking about you!
