AngRoCamp
Your challenge today is to create a layout and include one of your favorite poems as journaling or word art on the layout. (Obviously you can include additional journaling as well!) Find that perfect photo to illustrate the poem, or simply scrap the poetry itself. Please post your layout to THIS GALLERY and be sure to come back and link us to your layout so we can leave you some love! HERE is my layout for the challenge. ginaMO
Oh Ang, I love poetry. The hardest thing about this challenge is going to be deciding on only one poem! Thanks for the great challenge!

Becca
Wow..it shouldn't shock me really. The uncanny ability for the staff at SG to read my mind has always left me speechless. But here I am, and this morning, while getting dressed for the day, I had the idea to create a layout like this. Using Robert Frost's The Road Not Taken poem. And then lo and behold, I come to the message board, and this is the theme of today's challenge. So here's my layout, the first I've done in quite a few weeks --- The Road Not Taken Thanks for the challenge, Ang!

I'll let you in on a little secret... the poetry challenge wasn't what I had planned for this week. But last night as I sat down to put my layout together with my other idea in mind, I suddenly thought "Nope!! Doing poetry instead!" Priscilla9901
Run, Climb, Jump (Page1) Run, Climb, Jump (Page 2) I created a two page layout for this challenge. My husband took the kids to the park yesterday to get rid of some stored up energy, while I stayed home and enjoyed the peace and quiet and took care of some household stuff. He took some great photo's and videos of the kids, and I couldn't resist doing this one....then thanks to Ange, I decided to do my second two page layout. Thanks for the challenge...it worked out well.

Sherry Lynn
Okay first I need to say that Rebecca I loved your lo and definitely left you some love, now I have to tell my story! My dear mil passed away a year ago Sept. --- she wrote many books and many poems --- seriously, I was just reading one of her books the other day and told my dh I said "You know I love this poem your Mother wrote - I really need to do a layout for it someday". Guess today is the day! Right on ANG!
Sherry Lynn
Okay, here is mine for today, thanks Ang! I'll explain a couple of things #1 - she loved Halloween, thus the reference in the poem and #2 - every child and grandchild that came along was "the smartest of them all" - that even makes me smile today as I sit here typing this. Finally #3, I had to use this picture of her and my dear fil - because it seems when you were taking a picture of one, you were taking a picture of both, bless their hearts. AngRoCamp
I want to post my links to my page up here but I can't figure out how:(. That's a newbie thing I guess. I'm sorry! Can someone help me? Well all you need to do is copy the web address at the top of your gallery layout link and then paste it into your message post here in this thread. Like this (these are your two links): http://scrapgirls.com.ipbhost.com/index.ph...i&img=43093 http://scrapgirls.com.ipbhost.com/index.ph...i&img=43094 If you want to be a bit fancier you can type a word or phrase like HERE IS MY LAYOUT and highlight it (left click and drag across the word(s) ) and then click on the little green plus sign (+) icon to the right of the smilies icon above your message box when you're posting a message and paste in the gallery link. That will hyperlink your words "Here is my layout" or whatever words you choose and then it's just a quick clickable link. Either way works perfectly HTH! ginaMO
It was a really hard day here yesterday and I was having a miserable time trying to work on a layout with a serious poem that I love. One of my kids watched me working for a moment and told me "You should be doing Shel Silverstein." (He's a favorite around here and we quote him to each other) So I started fresh with a fun poem we love and here's the end result. scrapna99ie
GinaMO told me to post my LO here. I'm a little overwhelmed with the interface on the board, so I re-posted (no knowing where to edit). I also don't know where to credit things. I used 1 Paper patterns from Scrapgirls (Downtown_Hidden Gem & Typo Love) So here it is: Why I Love You! Reason #

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat?????? Oh Vaughnde you must immediately go pick up a copy of Where the Sidewalk Ends at your local library and just enjoy the fabulous poetry of Shel Silverstein!! Such fun!! Lots of silliness, lots of cleverness. LOTS of fun! And his poem/book The Giving Tree is just lovely!
ginaMO
Shel Silverstein should be the patron saint of this foster familiy. We quote his poems to each other a lot. Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout Would not take the garbage out! gets used at least once a day around here. They are so silly and fun that the new kids pick up on them fast and get to quote right along. When sprinkled with Shel Silverstein, even being told it is time to do chores can be an occasion for giggles.

Lots of silliness, lots of cleverness. LOTS of fun! And his poem/book The Giving Tree is just lovely! I agree. I love "The Giving Tree." It is my favorite book telling the wonderful tale of unconditional love and the joy of giving. I read it to my kids a lot. As for my LO I was going to do one of a poem my cousin wrote, but I can't find any pictures. She died 5 years ago at 18 years old. She wrote a beautiful poem about death when our G-Grandfather died. I was going to include the two of them together, but I have to wait for pictures to arrive from family to scan. So I think I might do a Shel Silverstein poem now and an Amy page later.
