I so sorry for your loss. I'll definately say prayers for your comfort and that you can receive the peace only He can give. Loosing a pet is so hard! Hang in there!

Oh, Stacey, I am so sorry. I just went through the same thing with our dog this past summer. We had no warning he had cancer and just like that he was gone. I cried for days. He was my boy, the one to cuddle with me and just knew when I needed some love. I still miss him like crazy, even though we have a new dog now that I've already grown attached to.

I did find that scrapping his album did me a world of good. But not until I was ready. I hope your other furbabies can help you with your loss. I always considered our dog our first born child, and it tore me up when he left us.

Your layouts are adorable!

Oh Stacy... just reading your post had me crying like a baby as we just went through a very similar situation with our kitty (our Meeko Bud) just a few weeks ago. We had him from the time he was just 3 weeks old till now almost 10 years later. He suddenly developed what the vet called Saddle Thromboses. A blood clot that lodges itself in the saddle area blocking flow to the hind legs. His hind legs were left useless and he cried in pain. The vet suggested that the best thing to do for him was let him go but we also had a smidgen of hope that a regimen of baby aspirin would clear up the clot and later hopefully concentrate on fixing the heart problem that caused the clot. So the vet sent us home with lots of morphine for his pain and a little hope that with some nursing he'd recover. Unfortunately he didn't survive the weekend. My heart broke. You're so right.... it's almost like loosing a child because they are so much a part of the family. The feeling of loss is so overwhelming at times and my heart so goes out to you as you go through this. :bighug: Big big hugs to you Stacy.

Hi Stacey,
I'm so sorry for your loss. I know just how you feel, we had a cat named Pussywillow who we had to put to sleep because his kidneys failed. It was so hard, but I know it was the right thing to do. My husband and I loved him so much, I couldn't go back to work for days after. Later, I did a scrapbook about him for my husband for a Christmas present - it still gives us a lot of comfort. I pray that God will give you the strength you need to get through this initial pain and replace it with warm and happy memories of Devo. You gave him a good life and now is he is in a glorious place where he can run with the wind and feel no more pain. :grouphug2:

I am sorry for your loss, and pray God's grace will fill you with peace. Devo was a beautiful friend and though you may not be able to hold him, you will never really lose him: he is always in your memories.

Stacey -

I am so sorry for your loss. My sister just lost two dogs - one was old and suffering and was compassionately guided over the Rainbow Bridge - two weeks later the other had a fatal accident. Hannah and Roo have been part of our extended family for years and we are all feeling the loss. Your news brought tears to my eyes because we are sharing in the same pain. Please now that we are keeping you and your wonderful forever friend in our thoughts.

Stacey -

I am so sorry for your loss. I am a big dog lover and I know the pain of having to let go. It sounds like you gave a wonderful life, and peaceful transition to his eternal life. I know how much it hurts, but I really believe you will see him again one day. In the meantime, let his memory comfort you.

I'll say a prayer for you and your family.
