I am going to order the book today. I'll post when I am done, for anyone who can't get the book. I'd be happy to send her the book.

My small town bookstore doesn't have it and I refuse to pay $50 for a library card in the next door town. I think it is just wrong! Heading over to Amazon. I just love internet shopping! :)

We won't come knocking on your door with pitchforks and torches if you don't finish the book in time. We really are very nice, sweet, kind, gentle people. It's always more fun with an extra person.

Commitment fear of a book club? Hmmm....Kim, I don't think we are making anyone sign any kind of commitment form so just give it a shot. No commitment necessary. ;)

Well, I've checked all my local book stores and they don't have it and the library doesn't have it. I've checked a couple places online and with shipping it would cost me close to $40. Soooo disappointing... I'm going to keep looking tho!

I know that Barnes & Noble had an audio version. It was the same price as the hard cover. www.bn.com

Good luck!

Oh, bummer! This was my only concern about the book....it's new and that means it's going to be harder to find in the library. If it makes you feel any better, the book we are currently looking at for next time is older and in paperback form. If I didn't feel like I needed to keep the book, I'd just send you mine. :(

I actually came home from the library (30 miles away) with their one and only copy! I filled out my application and received my library card - and it didn't cost me anything! WooHoo!

I haven't been in a library since college (sorry Scrappy Eros, I think I told you high school) :disappearing-smilie:

I've enjoyed it! Parts of it are really inspiring. You can tell that this was a real personal project for her. I have a chapter to go.

The one thing I like about non-fiction is that the story doesn't necessarily end with finishing the book. I can see Sandra Lee on tv. I love Jane Austen, but I want to know what happened to her characters after we left their stories. I'm the same way about movies. Maybe I'm just weird. ;)

Websters defines weird - "of strange or extraordinary character" now I'm thinking it doesn't sound too bad. And hey, my kids say it to me almost daily.

Zaz, I am the same way, but I still prefer a fiction over non-fiction. I just now ordered the book from Amazon and it
should arrive on the 11th. That should give me time to finish the book I'm working on now.

I am determined to participate!!!!!!! I am going to call the base libraries tomorrow and see if they have it. If not I will ask my Dh who is traveling to the states right now to buy it for me. He will be home in two weeks and I can read it when he brings it to me. And there is also Amazon - I have too many books already but I really want to join the group. I am even going to add the blinkie to remind me of my commitment. LOL

I ordered it!!! I will have it by the end of the week! Now to finish up the one I am listening to now. I just started the Eckhart Tolle book A New Earth.
Oprah had it on her show. I could put it off as I JUST started it, but I won't have anything to listen to all week then. So I think can get the 9 hours done before this new book comes. I love this as it gives me a great reason to get these audio books. I used to LOVE reading. Just do not have the time now. Audio books work so well for me as I can listen to them during the day while working!

Oh I am bummed! My library doesn't have the book! I guess that is a problem of living in a small town- small town, small library. I have sworn off buying new books this year. Our house is over-run with books (we all love to read) and I decided at the beginning of the year that I needed to use the libary more. Bummer! Perhaps I can join in the next chat. Have fun!

I hear you - can't find it in our system either, or on inter-library loan. I love books, but I usually prefer to use the library, especially when I'm not familiar with the book. It's a lot to spend to find out you don't like it and will never read it again.

Don't forget to check your local mega mart (Walmart or Target) if shipping is scary from Amazon. I have not looked for this one yet but I know Target has a pretty good selection of books in store. Maybe that is an option for you?
