I will be moving in 5 months - a huge part of me is so ready to leave and the other huge part of me is wanting to stay and for only 1 reason - friends.

My brain is starting to panic with the upcoming overseas moves and all that goes into it. Last time I had only 1 DS and he was 3. Now I have 2!! I am also starting to think about where we are going and having to make new friends - AGAIN. I have moved every 2 to 2.5 years for the last 15. It is getting old - packing and unpacking and starting all over. Also having to find new EVERYTHING.

I have often thought "who will be my friends" and "will I really bother making any" - our next duty station is only 2 years (guaranteed, which is one reason we took it). I have already thought about this "forum of friends" that I have already connected with and know deep down that you all will be saving grace as I tread water in a new location.

I am actually in tears right now trying to type this because reading Gwen's thread made my leaving a reality and that I will be leaving her. The other hard part is that we will never be stationed together again - my dh is Navy, hers is Air Force. Rarely do the two ever meet. But I know that she will be one of the few that will be a part of me forever and that helps make leaving easier.

Just think Gwen we still have our cruise to plan and look forward to - whenever that will be!!!

Thank you ladies for your support for her - I know I am leaving her in good hands with you all.

From another active duty military spouse to another ... even if I've only been married to the military for 9 1/2 years (and 7 moves), I completely understand where you're coming from. A forum like this is a wonderful way to help with the abruptness of yet another move, and the ladies (and guys) in here are wonderful. We'll all be here for you in 5 months for your move to PA! Good luck with the move, unloading and settling in to a new location.
I know it's no help, but obviously you've done this before and met wonderful friends so just imagine how many more wonderful people you're going to meet on your next move! (If I tell you this loud and long enough, then maybe just maybe part of it will soak into my brain ... our next PCS is next year to who knows where!!)
I'm sorry to hear how much this move is tearing you up inside - saying goodbye to friends is always difficult no matter what the circumstances, but hopefully you'll get to meet again one day and just imagine how many crazy/funny/whacky stories you'll have to catch up with when you do!!
