Tracey, I'm just catching up since before your paper meeting. Faith is so precious!! I am so happy for you and DH. Sounds like Zaz and Gina are getting you physically set to go. Now the rest of us can pray for the other details!! (And my first thought when seeing the photo was 'how much she looks like she belongs to you'....)

Ok, so today I did a little shopping at Discovery Toys. I got her a frog that is holding a red rose webkins kind of toy, but it is called sparkling something or another. I also got some paper dolls, magnetic dolls (like paper dolls, but using magnetics), Toddler Beads, and a bit more. LOL How much fun.

As far as the album goes, the state of California makes us do an album if one wants to adopt. I had that done first thing. LOL Now hoping that she likes it.

Tracey, Faith is going to love those, & what fun you will have with her dressing them up. I am so excited for all of you. :) :dancingelephant:

I know...How did I miss this thread? I am so excited for you TracEy. Your daughter is beautiful. The toys are a must. I think (like Gina mentioned) it really helps them to let you into their comfort zone. When my girlfriend was visiting her3 yr ol son pre-adoption she had a couple of snacks and after a few visits he would share with her, he even fed a couple of them to her. That was a big moment for them. Just remember to record everything. We kept a daily journal and it's amazing to look back on now. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

We meet her for the first time on Tuesday since tomorrow is a holiday (President's Day). I just subscribed to LifeJournal.com and just went ahead and bought the program for $40. So far I like it a lot. I know I could keep a journal in Word, but I really do like this option better. Today I was a spy.....LOL DH and I have the address of her foster home, so we drove by to see the conditions of her where abouts. We couldnt help it. We needed to see. We could not wait until Tuesday. We just drove by. We were not stalking or staking out the house. LOL I Promise! She is only like 10-15 mins away from us.

That's a sign if I ever heard of one. Her living 10-15 mins away from you guys! It's definitely too ironic! :) AWESOME THOUGH!

Don't know where I've been (probably playing Bingo!), but somehow I've completely overlooked this story. I have failed as a SGA

I will add your family and the beautiful little Faith to my prayer list. And I will be looking for updates in two days. Sometimes holidays fall at just the wrong moments, don't they?

When we adopted our son there was no visiting like you have to do. He was 10 weeks old and we spent a couple of hours with the foster mom and then he was ours. The weird thing was that he was about 100 miles from where we lived, but he was in my DH's hometown and his foster home was two houses away from some of our best friends. They were friends with the foster parents and they had met our son before we had! It's a small world.

I Too am sorry that I failed as an SGA. I have been MIA, and missed this post. Oh Tracey, she is so adorable, and she does look as if she is patiently waiting for you.

I bet you couldn't even sleep last night awaiting this day. Give her hugs from all her aunts here, and please post some more pics of her when you meet her.

Tracey! Your daughter is beautiful! What a face! I am so glad this is all happening for you and your DH. Her name, her proximity to you, it just all seems so meant to be. I love it when things work out so great! Congratulations! I can't wait to hear about when you bring her home!

Congrats Tracey.... sorry we were all sick here... so I haven't kept up with the news... one thing I did after meeting my son for the first time.... (we had to return home while his visa was being processed.... it took 4 weeks...) is that either I or my husband -- and sometimes both of us called him everyday... and spoke with him... even on the morning when we pick him up to come home with us... this way he at least remembered our voices... and after a few days... his foster parents told us that he was actually looking forward to our calls... we also left him lots of pics... of us... our home... his bedroom...

Have fun during your visit... as for our meeting with our son... we asked him if we could hold him... if we could hug him... etc... and it worked well for us -- I think he felt in control of the situation... that was one of the most wonderful day in our lives... so just enjoy it...

love to all your family...

TracEy, you are SO normal. I gradually got sicker and sicker the closer to Haiti we got. I couldn't sleep or eat. The day after we picked her up (still in Haiti), I was REALLY sick most of the day. I finally felt better the day after that (the day we flew to Miami). Thankfully, I have an AWESOME DH who managed to take care of both his girls while in Haiti. Mind you, I didn't have ANY of these problems the first time around. Go figure. ;)

I'm going to blame my current stomach issues on sympathy pains for you so it makes me feel better. Can't wait for more news tomorrow!

DH came home and knew I was in bad shape, so he offered to take me out for dinner instead of me making dinner. We went to Wendy's drive-thru. I have never had a wendy's hamburger before, but tonight I really needed one. It was soooooooooo good. Man have I been missing out. LOL I usually get their spicy chicken sandwich. That one is really yummy too.

We are all praying for you and for Faith. Relax and enjoy her, it was meant to be. And if you think the wait is long.... just imagine after you have met her and gained her trust.... how hard to wait to bring her home. Believe me, it will pass. Take some photos at the visit and scrap some layouts to frame for her room. It will be comforting for her when she does finally arrive to see herself already in you home and her room.

Hi TracEy, What an absolutely beautiful little girl !!!! You are so fortunate and blessed ! You are going to have a great time spoiling her ! My thoughts on spoiling, it can't hurt only helps, and gives my kids a place to view life from. That doesn't mean I don't disicpline, I do, trust me, but I love to shower my kids with gifts and mostly lots of hugs, kisses and love !!! It truly is the best medicine!!! Enjoy your daughter Faith
