Hello! I bought TKA_SS_Tools-Styles_WaterDrops5301 a few weeks ago and tried to install it this weekend. I followed the instructuions to put the ASL file in the correct folder for Photoshop Elements 6.0 and Windows XP. I had PSE closed at the time. Even though I have rebooted my computer they still do not show up under my effects choices: the place where I see bevel, drop shadow, etc. I also purchased TKA_SS_Tools-Shapes_WaterDrops5301. I followed the instructions for installing these and am using them with no problem. Please help me figure out how to use the styless.

Thanks,

Jennifer

The style might be there. Have you tried selecting All under the Special Effects Palette? There is a drop down menu that has Filters, Layer Styles, Photo Effects and All as choices. Click on All and then scroll through and see if you can find them.

Did you hold down the shift key while opening Photoshop? This refreshes all the styles at the opening of the programm. It might be this.

Thanks for the tips. I had previously tried "show all" and cannot find anything that looks like water except the waves I had previously. I just tried holding down the shift key when I open PSE, and that did not work either. Any other thoughts? I am really confused about why the shapes worked without a problem but not the style.

Thanks,

Jennifer

Jennifer, I'm in my car on my way home from Kansas. I don't have PSE 6, but I do have PSE 4. I'll try to open them in there and see where they disappear to. I'll get back to you!

Oh, you know what? I have to make the icons for PSE. These styles were only made for Photoshop, so I don't think the icon will appear in PSE unles I make them. Again, let me look at it when I get home...

Hey Jennifer! For whatever reason, I have problems getting PSE 6.0 to rebuild it's database when I install new styles.

See this thread , post #3 for how I force my system to rebuild.

There is also info in that thread on how to get your styles to show up in their own categories.

Hang in there! it can be a little frustrating, but it will work!

Let us know if you are still stuck, or if this solves the problem!!

Thank you! This worked! I did have to rename the files to get PSE to rebuild the databases. I was able to make the XML file so the styles show up as a menu item!

Thanks!

I do have buttons now! They look like bevels. Is this what they are suppose to look like?

Thanks!
