A Name For Our Baby Just need a middle name now

The name is Eliana. Pronounced: Ele-auna
It means the Lord/God has answered or answers, and we really like it. We have had some strange responses from people that we have mentioned it to, but I hope that they realize that we have really thought about this.
Anyway, I was just wondering what you all thought and if anyone had any good suggestions for a middle name. We are looking for a 2 syllable middle name since our last name is 1 syllable and needs the extra syllable to sound right. Also (super picky, huh?) we like a name with a good meaning like the first name we picked.
Eliana ????????? Payne
Any suggestions?

Here's a few I liked when naming our daughter (meaning meant a lot to us too so we went with the first one)
Catherine - Pure
Michelle - who is like God
Mercy - Compassion
Sophia - Wisdom
Those are just a few. We had a list a mile long! So glad I'm not going through all that again. Naming a child is hard! They have to live with what you choose for their whole life. Too much pressure!

I love the whole naming thing. I'll think about it and get back to you. Just had to blather on here for some reason first.

When we were naming our girls (finding 2 first and middle names at the same time is a trick...can't imagine naming triplets!!LOL!), we didn't tell anyone the names we were considering or that we chose. Not even our family. It seems that no matter what name you choose, someone knew someone with that name that was a bully in their class, or stole their boyfriend, or was generally just not nice, or something. My mom actually recommended we keep the names to ourselves...even from her (pretty cool of her, I thought). It was so fun for DH and I to have this secret. Everyone knew (eventually) that we were having twin girls. If we'd spilled their names too, there wouldn't have been any surprise for anyone. It was so exciting for us to be able to give them their names in the delivery room. The OB and the delivery/surgical staff were the first to hear their names. LOL! And we decided as we were heading to the OR for the delivery which girls would get which name.
Whatever you choose, I'm sure it will be lovely. And our general take on names...as long as Mom & Dad love it, it doesn't rhyme with any body part/bodily function/foul interjection, and you still like it after screaming it at the top of your lungs 50 times a day -- IT'S A KEEPER!!! LOL!
Enjoy this part of pregnancy too. And be sure to do a LO re: how/why you picked her name. Those stories are priceless.

How neat that your last name is Payne too!
Yes, naming is SUCH a big deal because once you choose the name then that's it!
We had actually thought about naming this baby girl Sophia, and we really liked the meaning. It has just become so poplar that I didn't want to use it for a first name, but a middle name would be great! We were also considering Catherine which is my younger sister's name except spelled with a K. I love that meaning too.
I was so shocked to see the names you had listed.....2 of them were names we had considered and the other two are also very pretty with great meanings.
I know what you mean about the list.....mine is getting shorter since we have decided on the first name, but we have to make the decision on the middle.
Thanks so much for these suggestions. It is always nice to get other's opinions and you Scrap Sisters are so special to me that I had to ask you what you thought.

When we were thinking up boys names my husband cleaverly came up with "Royal." Can you imagine going through life with the name "Royal Payne?" I quickly nixed that idea! LOL!
I can't wait to hear what you decide!
PS ... I would LOVE to see a recent belly shot!

I think the name you have picked is beautiful.
We had an interesting time picking names. Girl names were easy we agreed on lots of them, but we never had a girl. LOL.
Boy names were so hard to agree on. With our youngest we picked out a few and then waited to see him to pick his name.
He was born we both looked at him and said yep he's devin.
Our Dr. didn't think it went well with our last name. But didn't really like him so we didn't bother to answer him. LOL.

OH MY GOODNESS, Shari, you had me in stitches about the name Royal! That would be terrible. My husband's mom didn't even think about the name she picked for him. She named him Kary Duane Payne......it really sounds terrible together....she was young and stupid, what can I say. Anyway, when I married Kary I was determined to have names that sounded good with our last name.
I am so glad you all like Eliana.....I have received some funny reactions to it, but I just shrug it off. I am really glad that you all like it though.
Oh.....Belly shots.....I don't have a single one yet! It's just terrible......I always have the camera and forget to have someone snap a shot.....plus I HATE being this big.....but I know I will loose the weight after my girl gets here.
I do really need to work on getting some pictures before Eliana gets here and I can't get one then! I so want to do a LO with at least one picture for her to be able to see when she is older of how I looked pregnant with her.

That is so great to know. I haven't heard of many Eliana's and to know that the one you knew was caring is so nice to know.
My sister's name is Kathryn and Shari suggested Catherine which I really liked. Hubby wasn't to sure about it because of it ending in N and our last name ending in N, but I think it sounds fine.
Naming.....it is just the begining of the hard to do parenting thing...........

I am working on the belly shot Shari!
And as an aside of Mary- it actually means "bitterly wished for" if you look all the way into it. My dd is Molly (a derivative of Mary) and Mary was my grandmother's first name (hence the Molly
Its funny bacause all of the middle names I thought of are here- Marie, Elizabeth, Grace, Katherine... all good ones
