Just thought I would share that my first ultrasound is tomorrow. They won't be able to see much. I am still early on- about 10 weeks. They are mainly doing it just to date my pregnancy correctly. I am a little anxious. I am so scared they won't see a heartbeat or something. The other day they tried to hear the heartbeat with the doppler thing but couldn't find it. I know it is early to hear it that way ( my dad is an OB) but it still isn't a good feeling having them stick that thing on your belly and never hearing the galloping sound of that little heartbeat. I'll check in tomorrow to let you know what I see!

**Update**

Just got back and have the first baby pictures of our little one. While she was doing the scan my eyes were glued to that screen just waiting to see the little flicker of the heart. The ultrasound tech was so fast it was hard to keep up but then she turned on the speakers and there it was- the little gallop sound! Yeah! It's little heart was beating fast- 165. My sister says the wives' tale is that fast heartbeats are girls while boys are slower. Who knows? Perhaps my little girl will have a sister. Or, then again, my little girl and I may be severely outnumbered by boys!! Something else to wait and see.

Thanks for your well wishes and prayers. I could really feel them! You guys rock!
Jenn

Jenn ... I know that feeling! One of my babies was hiding from the doppler too and it scared the crud out of me! Turned out he was just hanging out as close to my spine as he could get, thankfully! I'll keep you in my prayers and I look forward to your update!

Best of luck to you! I know what you mean about being anxious. This little one and my dd were less than cooperative so I had to go back again for a date and to see the heartbeat! Ugh! Prayers for a healthy pregnancy!

Yippee!!! I'm so excited for you Jenn!

I believed the wives tale ... it was spot on for all 3 of my friend's pregnancy. And it was spot on for my first too. 165 beats per minute for my daughter. My son was a tiny bit slower at 156 bpm. So I was pretty surprised when we had the ultra sound that clearly showed us his little boy parts. LOL! You never know with these things. You only have to wait a couple more months to find that out though. ;)

How exciting! I had my two kids before they were doing routine ultrasounds so I never got to have that thrill. Best wishes for a healthy, happy baby, no matter what the gender. :)
