Help A Digiscrapper With A Project! Want to alter something!

I have a heavy chipboard 3x5 index card holder little box thingy. I want to alter it, but I don't know where to start!

What adhesive should I use? Mod Podge? But I don't want that shiny surface. Do I need to sand the smooth cardboard surface? Should I paint it white first? It's craft paper colored now.

A little help, my paper scrapping friends? Gracias!

Sounds like it could be fun. I'm not sure what you would use as far as adhesives go, but sounds like a great idea. The only 3x5 index card box I have is plastic, and black of all colors, so please do share,

I have been living buried in books and writing classes... as an added note I must say that it is rather scary when you start dreaming and all you can see within your dreams is words floating everywhere!

LOL Betsy, GMTA, I guess. This was my topic for October at scrapsahoy (where I am a DT). I did an altered index card box. Pic below. I just used doublestick tape, but mod-podge would work great. I think they make a matte version, so no gloss!I spray painted mine first, then sanded the edges to distress it. Then decorated. Was easy and looks great. And, it does what it is supposed to do which is keep me organized!

Hmmm, my box is more chipboard-y, and looks a lot less sturdy than that one. I think I'm going to sand it down (if I remember to buy sandpaper!), paint it white, and maybe use spray adhesive? I think. Now I just have to buy sandpaper and spray adhesive! Oh, yeah, and find more than 5 minutes to sit down and do this! LOL!

Betsy...I recently did some photo tiles, where I did a layout and attached it to a 8x8 ceramic tile (from Home Depot). I used a light coat of modge podge on the back of the paper, then after that was dried sprayed a 2 coats of clear acrylic sealer (matte finish) on the top. That might work for what your talking about
